So,
I was playing battleground while suddenly my game got disconnected. I tried loading in and from that moment the game has been on “Retrieving character list”.
First I got worried I might have had someone crash into my profile so I changed my password, since I have also noticed my status changed to connected to: Americas (I am a European player and I didn’t even know this was a thing so maybe it has been there the whole time not sure). I log back in, nothing changed.
I understand this has happened in the past as well, anybody else had this happen recently?

Trillions of ppl stuck on retrieving char list.Doesnt matter where it happened,cant blame it on addons,check your logs to see whats happening and do your job.FIX IT.

You can play other characters if you add this to your \World of Warcraft\_retail_\WTF\Config.wtf file:
SET disableAutoRealmSelect "1"
For example, Argent Dawn is down for me, but Silvermoon isn’t.
Keep in mind, every time you restart the game this line is removed from the WTF/Config.wtf file, so you’ll need to re-add it.

EDIT: Well, now it seems Argent Dawn are not alone.

Yeah i was just gonna relog to fix some addons and then i just got stuck on this “retrieving charecter list”

got dced about an hour ago or so and cant get back in: can blizzard really afford to suck any more than they already do?
Yeah, i was in the middle of doing the Hallowfall event when i got DCd. My poor loot

Same issues here on Argent Dawn. Worst part is that I can’t even select a different realm to play a different character, since it automatically gets stuck on “Retrieving Character List” immediately upon logging in.
Same happened to me and my friend, we finished ICC tried to create a portal to Dornogal, but couldn’t due to the game saying I was still in combat. After trying to HC, both my friend and I were disconnected from the server, after trying to reconnect game is stuck on retrieving character list. No buttons are working
Half an hour ago, I couldn’t enter the dungeon, and now it’s completely down (MoP classic)
