Worldbuffs in TBC

Okay, tell you what, here is how we find out whos right:

  1. We wait for TBC release
  2. We both do the quest
  3. We see for ourselves

Sound good? Wonderful.

yea i dont care about being right just care to find out how it works.

but dmf is still a thing yea

Still, what makes you think they’d address drums meta but not world buff meta, considering the latter is a lot more reviled than the former, especially by the players who do want TBC over Classic? Even if it somehow eluded players back then, I don’t see why they wouldn’t fix it this time around (kinda like how they did with the Ectoplasmic Distiller in Classic - and that was before they embraced #SomeChanges).

If some world buffs actually slipped into TBC Classic, the backlash and public outcry would be huge.

yea i do agree with them being bad, but like all expansions, perhaps even more so due to a smaller team u cant expect much change after it’s launched. logging out until reset to save time on flask or elixirs is a lot more handy than having to get summoned to some world buffs

They did intervene in Classic to remove things, I would expect them to do the same in TBC if warranted. Wbuffs would definitely be up in that category.

Not my problem. I’m just pointing a fact, if you’re upset by facts it’s on you.

You are basically saying “please ruin the game because I have weird preferences”, what do you expect ?

Haven’t you considered starting a new character if you just want to busy your time ?

Have you at least called him a loser for his lame excuse not to help you?

Yes but don’t matter to him:) His precious Naxx or whatever he is going to do is more important.
Claccic is his first WoW i told him he would love TBC without these crap world buffs.

I think prepatch will not fix if they do it same way as back then. It will stop working once you hit lvl 63, and that will not happen until real release.

Oh woe, we are to sit in the buff prison until the very day the dark portal opens :sob:

Are you fo’real? Is the peer pressure that strong on your server? What about doing a Naxx run without any worldbuffs? Suggest that to your raid - what would they say? xd

Coming without raid buffs is like coming with unenchanted weapon. In fact it’s much worse, since a single world buff does more for your performance than probably all your enchants. Yeah you can do it and the bosses will die either way, but it’s just such a bad tone, you are expressing contempt for buffed (or in my example enchanted) buddies. You are saying to them “you carry me, knaves, I don’t have to do my reasonable best”.
I raided for almost half a year with a mage who had half his stuff unenchanted, barely any consumes and no world buffs. And he took a tear of neltharion over me due to dkp stacking. He quit the game when he got demoted to social and asked to leave the raid for a benched full member. If I come without wbuffs, I feel like I’m being that guy. A parasite, a freeloader. It’s shameful.

I get it but if you collectively decide to not get any world buff - not a single raid member. Then nobody is really “that” guy.
Like advertising at as some hardcore run, you could even say no consumables either.
Your raid will probably be more challenging and you would free yourself from the meta you don’t like.
Something like a consumable free/world buff free world first Naxx clear. At last you already have the Naxx gear that should help with it.

Another solution would be to just let others play the carry if they really want and the ones without world buffs pay them some gold. In that sense you could free yourself from the buff meta with gold…

That is all true. But we aren’t that good to be honest. Like, this week was the first time we successfully did Sapphiron without re-buffing ony and zg first. It was a close call, and the mana pots and dark runes of our healers really felt it. We oneshot buff-less KT after as well, but again, like 20 people were alive at the end and I had to pop every single mana consume there is on cooldown (except for wisdom flask of course). And the run still took 3 hours, and we considered that a good clear time. Without world buffs on entire plague, construct and military the clear would take 4h+, and ain’t nobody got time for dat shizz.

If you coordinate your guild you can take all buffs together in 30mins. Only time your offline is when you summon to naxx. Yet all noobs thinks all 40 have to get them alone 6days before raid. Then proceed to take 4h before sapphiron.
I hope the Botanica buffs and enslave demon buff will work as they did and we have a new wbuff meta.

While I understand your point I don’t see things as you do.
You can try and perfect your mechanics and do Naxx without WBs or at least with just a few of them. That’s the point of the game, to become better, not a Mary Sue.

By your statement you must be pro boosting too as with them you can skip hours of leveling as “nobody got time for dat shizz”. Because with WBs practically you skip the mechanics along with the raid preparation.
This ruins the experience and it’s a shame.

You are correct almost to the letter. I am pro boost because ain’t nobody got time to level through empty classic for the 7th time. I wouldn’t even mind if it wasn’t limited to just one per account.

What experience does it ruin, how does it ruin it and for whom exactly?

The only reason your zones are empty is because people don’t want to get ganked so they get boosted in instances and then come on forums and claim their superiority for leveling on a pvp server.

Our server is popping off in every zone atm.

Beware your wishes, for they may come true.
