WoW Housing: It’s Only Neighborly

I’m not impressed either. It’s disappointing they ignore the call for solo housing for some of us while simultaneously removing the solo neighbourhood which would clearly be popular with players and burn resources.

Get ready to either move out or stay as a black sheep. Your neighbours will remember you didn’t help out reaching the highest endeavour tier and will make you aware of that every forthcoming neighbourhood barbecue.

Imho they will implement it after a while.

Not a fan of seeing that renown track style in there. It’s like blizzard is addicted towards that renown menu like they were addicted towards the mission tables back then.

Smart move with neighborhoods. It’s an mmo after all.

It’s very cozy trolls’ sweet home~

But yeah I Dont want be neighbor

WHY is there an endeavor system? Why is there a renown and a new currency for it? All we asked for was housing. Have you system designers ever done housing in an MMO? Where did you see having to farm a renown or reputation to get increased decoration space? What was wrong with ONLY giving us the housing and adding vendors with decorations and decorations drops in old and new instances, like you did with pets and toys? Why do you have to stick a system to this? Who wants to be forced to grinding a new renown if they want the cooler decorations? Nowhere have I seen such a thing before.

In every single MMO I’ve played that has housing you just pay for the housing lot, or you get your first smaller house for free, and then there’s vendors and crafting recipes that get you decorations, or you find them as drops or achievement rewards. So, if you’re going to do this as well, what exactly do endeavors accomplish? Forced group content if you’re not in a solo neighborhood? There’s already m+, raids, BGs, arena, etc, if I want to do group content. How is this not a chore system? If this has nothing to do with player power, what’s the point of forcing people that don’t want to do chores, that just want to enjoy housing?

That was the whole point of us wanting housing. We just wanted our property, and decorations, to create whatever we wanted, and to leave it at that. And sure the neighborhoods are nice if you wanna show off your house to your neighbors, but this chore system? I HIGHLY suggest you guys go out and do housing in other MMOs, instead of adding pointless endeavor chore systems into this.

To create (and maintain) a Private Neighborhood, there’s a minimum number of players (not characters) who must be in the Guild or Charter as well as (eventually) a minimum number of players who must live in the Neighborhood.

So no solo neighbourhoods?
That is incredibly disappointing and a horrible, horrible decision.

I really, really hate that stupid decision and Blizzard’s dumb insistance to make us ‘live with others’. STOP IT.

At this moment in time I’m even having doubts if I’ll continue playing WoW beyond my current sub’s length. I might be done. Yes, I’m THAT disappointed.

The people that made these decisions clearly have no clue what we were asking for or done housing themselves in other online games. The whole point was “here’s your house, do what you want with it, you wanna go live next to people, you wanna live alone, you wanna have a hobo shack or a palace with 5000 decorations, you do you”. Clearly they think they know better, again.

Remember when I said “Dont go expecting much from housing” and a lot of people told me I was being dramatic and a killjoy?

Its so good (and not good) to be vindicated.

Never. Ever. Trust grandiose statements from devs.

To be fair: The interior part of this housing system looks amazing.
It’s all the exterior rules and forcing of playing a certain way and ‘gaming systems’ they’re attaching to it that’s ruining it.

And I also predicted Blizzard would find some way to force people once again to be slaves to this creepy fascination they have with “everyone HAS to play with each other, even for housing”

Here we are.

We should make a community so we can charter neighbourhoods on different servers together and leave each other alone.

If Blizzard wants us to organize and fight their dumb rules, we can do that!

So instead of individualist approach that players have asked for years, the whole system is actually fundamentally collectivist.

Instead of personal expression we get “social architecture”.

Lol. It is not player housing, it is a village system.

No ones being forced into anything, you don’t have to get a house and the system shown is just one way to get decorations that involves working with the neighbourhood. Afterall, wow is an MMO so why not have some parts of its player housing system being MMO over single player.

Maybe all those who want a solo neighbourhood can band together and create a small charter neighbourhood with their houses far enough apart that they forget they have neighbours :dracthyr_shrug:

I’m pissed off and not in the mood.
I’ll apologize later. :grimacing:

…I have kept quiet on all posts around housing as I am clearly in the minority - housing does not float my boat at all :flushed:

I have my garrison and did build it up as far as it could go with the various buildings so I was self sufficient at the time, but this current iteration doesn’t do anything for me - I will check it out when it launches I guess and then probably let the virtual grass grow over it!

Just a thought though - is the OP just telling us about Neighbourly iterations, could there a a future post on solo iterations
