If, allegedly, Saga expansions are to be of shorter life, doesn’t that mean it’s time for the next expansion cinematic/reveal?
yeah i wonder this allso
what is irriidikron doing ?
i mean people forget him ? XD
he was up to something big
KEKDGAR is on a wheelchair for another 7 days i belive xD
content is gatekept
harranir story is not really interesting after we beat ansurek there is no more thrill for their people
i dont know what blizzard is cooking.
so far its reused assets like the one from bfa siren island aka expedtion
Well at least with The War Within it won’t be a drastically shorter expansion, but perhaps a slightly shorter one (compared to Dragonflight).
And looking at the roadmap Blizzard provided:
The announcement for Midnight is scheduled for late summer, which coincides with Gamescom, so it’ll probably happen then and there.
Aren’t cinematic usually about a year before expansion launch? August seems late to me.
Yeah, but I dare say that Blizzcon is dead, so the usual way of things is not going to be the future way of things.
Blizzard are owned by Microsoft now and a part of Microsoft Gaming division.
I mean, the Diablo IV expansion cinematic was shown for the Xbox Summer Showcase, which was mere months before the release of the game.
blizzcon would be great but they dont have much to show for.
overwatch 2 is a meme. i even lost everything from ow 1 and thats i wont forgive them
ow 2 is getting destroyed by marvel rivals and riots shooter
hots ? canceled and abadonned. there is dotka 2 and lol making milion dolars
heartstone ? nobody care about this pay2win for packs random number generator
d4 ? d4 bad. look up poe 2 how it should be done
wow ? nothing much. i dunno why they even announced 3 expansions future XD
are they afraid or something ?
Yeah, you are right most likely. “one year rule” doesn’t apply anymore.
Fixed this for you
" none is really as EXPENSIVE as WoW "
Yeah, I don’t think we’ll see Blizzcon again. Warcraft Direct was kind of the substitute this year, and last year’s Blizzcon didn’t exactly have the crazy ticket sales it’s had in the past, and not that much to show either. There was the WoW announcements, but otherwise it was fairly tame. Even more so since Blizzard have drastically scaled back their eSport engagement in recent years, which has otherwise been a staple at Blizzcon.
So yeah…
And as you say, Blizzard’s other games aren’t exactly firing on all cylinders right now, so to speak.
Overwatch 2 is being decimated by Marvel Rivals. It’ll go the way of StarCraft II and Heroes of the Storm within a year or two. It’ll be there, you can play it, and there’s a store, but otherwise nothing much will be going on.
Diablo IV also seems to be on life-support. There are so many good ARPGs to choose between, and Diablo IV isn’t really the king of the hill it ought to be considering it’s Blizzard’s flagship game. It’s constantly on sale, you can play it for free at times, even the new Spiritborn class, and the Vessel of Hatred expansion has barely been out for a few months. Those are not good signs. The game has had $150 million worth of sales in microtransansactions, which is pitifully low for a game of that size.
It’ll go the way of Overwatch 2 and slowly get reduced to increasingly smaller DLC releases after the next expansion.
It does not have the success it needs to have in order to warrant ongoing AAA scale investment.
Hearthstone is also starting to run on an empty tank. There are no new gameplay modes being introduced and the development is entirely focused on selling card packs. And the prices are getting increasingly absurd, because it’s in the same situation as Blizzard’s other games where the player population is dwindling so the monetization is increased to milk the last money out of it.
It’ll also fade into obscurity in a few years as content creators move to other games like Balatro, Backpack Hero, The Bazaar, or whatever else they’ve journed off to, and it loses the competition on mobile to Pokémon TCG Pocket, which has a way stronger IP.
Warcraft Rumble is dead man walking. It does not even feature on the downloads lists for Android or Apple. If there are more than the 2 developers working on it that showed up for Warcraft Direct, then I’ll be surprised.
It’s a flop and there’s no reviving it.
Warcraft III and the other strategy games haven’t succeeded in attracting the old RTS fans back. Like an abusive ex-girlfriend, the players have learned it’s best to stay away. The RTS crowd all seem happy playing Age of Empires anyway.
And then there’s WoW…
I mean, if you’re going to project anything right now, then I’d say WoW has ~5 years left as a viable product for Blizzard. And that fits with the World Soul Saga.
Retail WoW simply isn’t popular anymore. Like Blizzard’s other games, then the playerbase is just not there to warrant ongoing AAA development, and you can only milk the product for so long.
Classic WoW is great, for now, but because of its very nature, then it’s inevitably going to lose traction. Players are there for the initial nostalgia of Vanilla leveling, they’re not there to replay Shadowlands.
So yeah…
The patient ain’t looking too healthy.
Blizzard does have an unannounced open world shooter in the works, and they have also made a development team with King to produce mobile titles for Blizzard’s IPs.
But there’s no Blizzcon happening because of any of that, or any of the above. At least I can’t imagine that.
wow addicts are just sad as fentanyl addicts and need medical treatment
WoW isn’t even an MMO.
Golf… I here he’s playing golf.
We seem to be getting two proper tier per expansion now rather then three.
I doubt it. I suspect Blizzcon made a profit when the digital passes where taken into account. They might keep them for major announcements. Let’s face it, WoW is still their main game. They messed up Overwatch with Overwatch 2 tripe.
Why wouldn’t MSFT like hype accompanied with money. Just dont announce a Diablo mobile game then you’ll be fine
To be fair for how much I love FFXIV the combat is . That was never the game to knock wow off the top for long. Wow was always gonna come back.
The community is a little whoppy too. Nice people but whoppy.
Blizzcon needs something big to show off. So we might see midnight there, but if MS want it to be shown elsewhere then there probably won’t be one.
WoW was king. Until sharding and phasing…
There is some things in GW2 I really liked, but then this stupid UI comes in and just destroys it for me.
And the graphics in these games are at times just really messy.
Remember Nymue in Amirdrassil? That kind of insane bad graphics, but its more of these in wow alternatives, atleast it was tons of this bad graphics in GW2 when I tried. Felt like Nymue all over the place
The thing is, every single MMO so far tried to replicate what WOW has. And wow doesn’t try to replicate anybody. They might adopt a feature or two that are popular on others but that’s the extent it goes.
Most of the hype for other MMO’s is people trying to experiment new games and swapping to any other game, it also happens in wow, but the main reason is that Blizzard don’t listen to people that love an expansion week1 and week2, week3 they’re already complaining and week4 they’re playing something else.
They build for the players that keep playing it. That’s why it’s still alive.
Yep that’s what I intended to say with this post.
FFXIV is next to WoW a top tier MMO, but WoW just has more ticks on more stuff.
The combat is just one thing. A very big thing, though. This GCD alone is just so…ugh…
FFXIV was, like every other MMO, just a social media hype when it overtook WoW.
I liked it, and I liked the interaction between Blizzard and Square just before and at that time, but we all knew it couldn’t last all too long (and FFXIV Team didn’t make a secret out of it that they didn’t care if WoW or FFXIV were “1st place”.
Yoshi P. loves WoW too much himself xP and was just thankful for the community to support FFXIV so much).
i remember raiding Nymue
it was ONLY boss i got extremal lags i dunno why
everything other run smooth and i have 2 years old PC
Its how the combat is and how it just visually looks well.
I have found at least with EVERY other mmo i have played i have HATED the combat system and visals work.
It always seems to blend into each other and it personally gives me a kind of yuck feeling. That something is off.
Best thing competitors can do is try and pretty much copy wow in every way but with just a different world and rp aspects.
Wow has been out for to long and its pretty much a standard how a good mmo should look like, kinda how there is a genre of “dark souls” games.
