The extra armor from ilvl for WW monk doesn’t give that much DR. I tested dropping the ilvl of my druid by 39 (unequipped chest). DR went down by 2%. Vers as you say give 5% difference, so your monk has around 3% advantage even is with lower ilvl.
I actually tested that. And no, higher armor makes him hit for less. I take significantly less damage in bear form than cat form (as expected). It’s just different tuning for different classes.
Good to know! Havent looked at the damage, but indeed felt like he slapped quite hard every now and then on my ret pala.
So after some testing those are the results:
-
My ilvl 586 monk has 19195 armor = 15.83% DR + 13% vers = 22.33% DR
-
Dejamonk ilvl 629 must have somewhere ~24000 armor = ~19% DR + 3% vers = 20.5%
Note that this calculations are an aproximation, since the Armor on gear does not show on the armory and he is also mistweaver with a crit/haste intellect staff, so I not know if he has some more versatility on his agility weapons/trinkets/rings.
In conclusion, if none of the above conditions are met (which I have no way to know), my monk is 1.83% tankier despite the 43 ilvl difference.
It’s not huge but my monk is 623 in ww and has 580 weapons, its a healer main.
Thanx guys i will follow your advices!
Ok so quick recap:
- I was wrong accusing you of testing on a tank spec.
- You were wrong about the frontal being “a one shot in any circumstance”
- We both were right about the damage we were taking, since Zekvir has a unique melee damage scaling for cloth armor users, which neither of us knew.
- I was right about the OP not dying to melee hits, since melees don’t go higher than 3.5million on crit (5% chance to happen) against a plate user and he’s ilvl 619 fury, therefore 100% to 5% in 1 hit is impossible with just a melee hit.
Do we agree on this?
