Hi Blizzard team,
Let me be clear: Hearthstone as it is today doesn’t work. The game isn’t managed with the seriousness needed to be competitive. Too much luck (RNG) decides the outcome of matches. Random cards, or cards that shouldn’t even exist in the deck, make matches frustrating and unfair. This is not how you build a serious esport. RNG must be drastically reduced, and random cards that create uncontrolled chaos must be removed.
Balance is another huge problem. Some cards and strategies dominate the meta with no real counterplay, while other classes or decks are ignored because they’re ineffective. In a competitive game, every choice should matter, and every match should reward the better player. Right now, that’s not happening.
The tournament registration system in the client is confusing and hard to access. Too often, it’s not the most skilled players who shine, but those with more visibility, even if less competent. This discourages true competitive players and damages the integrity of the game.
Take Heroes of the Storm as an example: that game could have ridden the MOBA boom, but the opportunity was wasted. The potential was there, and there are still many players who love it, showing that if you had listened to the community, much more could have been achieved.
Hearthstone still has the potential to be the number one card game in the world, but it requires courage and vision. Reduce RNG, remove random and out-of-deck cards, balance the mechanics, make tournament access clear and open, and ensure that skill, not luck or popularity, determines the winner. The game must reward strategy, planning, and ability, not temporary “wow” effects or uncontrolled randomness.
The community is ready and willing to give constructive feedback. If you truly listen to competitive players, Hearthstone can become what it was meant to be: a real esport, a reference point in the card game world. Blizzard has the history, talent, and tools to lead the industry again.
No more excuses. Stop half-measures. Take Hearthstone seriously, listen to passionate players, and bring it back to the top, where it belongs. It’s not too late, but the time to act is now.
