D2 - Can't connect to bnet

I just reinstalled Diablo 2 the other day and every time I try to connect to bnet
I get this error: “You were disconnected from battle.net. Please reconnect.”
This happens on all 4 servers.
What gives?
Last time I played (years ago) I could play normally.

This normally means that a temporary restriction was placed either your IP and/or CD-Key. To find this out, please open a ticket as were here in the forum can’t check this for you.

So I can’t connect because I got a temp ban…? Why even would I get temp banned… I just reinstalled the game, haven’t touched it in years

got the same problem - how can i open a ticket with this kind of problem? please write down exact actions needed

I also have this problem . worked for years and out of nowhere this error came up , reinstalled it again . Stil unnable to connect .
A ban seems unlikely tbh as i play the game for 18 years now without any program , not even a loader

Stil same prob , took a ticket and all , they told me its a temp restriction between 1-14 days , we’r now at day 20 , i’ve reopened the tticket many times al i get is the same autorespons answere every single time again and again .
Been playing almost exclusivly blizzard games since 2000 , and thats how they treath you , dont even take time to look into your complaint , they just autoreply you with same mail .

But cant tell if you guys did same thing I did? I failed write “right CD-key.”
When install game it says it want CD-key when truth, game want licence key and they not even close same.

I tryed write my CD-key to many times before I understand blizzard game give false information.

Wanna know if more did same, even it sounds like that?
Was maybe 10 years ago last time I play D2. And fiest thing hapend, banned for half months and more people will fall in to this trap when it looks Blizzard dont care, lol.

I’ve been playing Blizzard games almost exclusively and always got treated fairly,
I know the D2 playerbase isn’t big, but please don’t leave us hanging, and don’t say open a ticket, I’ve read the previous posts, just fix it, can’t be hard since it worked for over 20 years

Chipping in to say it’s happening to me too.

I have just put a new post concerning this problem. I don’t understand why the only answer of Support is: TEMPORARY RESTRICTION. About all the posts I’m reading about this connection problem: NOTHING has anything to see with what is mentioned in the ‘temporary restriction’ post. That kind of ‘easy’ answer offends me a lot!
And about the ‘easy’ advice to the customers to open a ‘ticket’: what kind of answer is that? This is a general problem since 2018!! Why opening ‘tickets’? I don’t get it.

It’s part of their attempt to stop botting and spamming, but in my opinion they butchered the complete security system… I got a reply from a support ticket telling me I’m restricted access until 22nd of November (ticket logged the 8th) and the only thing I did was a clean install with my official key codes…

They gave me a list of reasons why the restriction would apply, but none of them made sense to me, especially since a restriction of more than 72 hours (which is the case here) is only applied when an employee (that’s how they stated it) witnesses you doing something wrong, so harassing people, spamming, logging in and out to quickly, etc… => how the hell can I be doing that without being able to log in even once?

I have sent additional requests for information of why I got restricted… but even three days later, no response.

Just chiming in, still “temp” banned. Opened multiple tickets and they all told me to wait until ban is lifted. Yes, since august :slight_smile:
Last ticket told me to wait until 19/11, so I waited until today. Guess what. Still banned.
Does anyone know if I just buy a new copy of the game if that will do anything? Or becuase “IP ban” that doesn’t matter?

@JEHD, I don’t know if buying a new copy will help, a lot of people here have the same issue with new key codes.

The most frustrating part of this is that they are unable to disclose WHY you are temporarily banned… sure they give you a list, but as far as I know nothing applies to my case… It’s pretty annoying and frankly, it’s outrageous that blizzard is getting away with this.

Exactly my point. Literally installed the game after not playing for years and boom, banned. List of reasons doesn’t help at all, doesn’t apply at all.
Just wish I could play, that’s all really…

i am having the same issue, and i just bought the game yesterday after an almost 15yr absence

The D2 servers are really bad. Try waiting for a bit for them to catch up.

So, is this problem resolved?
I was able to play D2 on Bnet just yesterday and today i cant connect…
