Characters who disconnect from the game unexpectedly for any reason may temporarily become stuck online. The server should automatically remove any characters who become stuck within an hour. Please wait an hour and try logging in again.
If your character stays stuck for more than an hour keep in mind we have a script running once every ~24 hours to remove [locked] characters.
is this a fucking joke? it may take 24 hours so we can play again? what about u run the script every hour dog?

are you freaking out of your minds there? this is 2021, hello. you are making people to wait for an hour best case to detect there’s no human playing the character? and 24 hours worst case? maybe you should hire consultants who’d explain you how to develop software in 2021?
i’m seeing the error by myself. my character DID NOT get “unexpectedly disconnected for any reason”, I left the game normally. this was more than two hours ago.

Yes, after todays server problems i also get
“Failed to enter game. This character is already in a game on the server. Please try again”
with all of my characters. Maybe I should stop playing this game, it really starts to get frustrating and this is something a game should not be

After the server problems several of my characters are giving me the
“Failed to enter game. This character is already in a game on the server. Please try again.”
And the characters that I have not yet tried to enter a game with give a different error
“An issue occurred while communicating with the game servers. Please check that you are connected to the internet and try again.”
A little bit of time after receiving that error (30-60 seconds), if I try entering a game with that character I get the “Failed to enter game…” error on that character aswell.
There is a lot of recruitment at the moment in the agriculture / farming field.
Maybe you people at Blizzard should think about it, it’s a great opportunity!

So you are telling us that our chars are in worst case scenario 24 hours locked out of the game? This is a very nice solution for you to “resolve” the heavy server load on weekends. What a frakin shitshow.

So what you’re saying is, after waiting an hour and still not able to connect, we might as well give up until some time tomorrow afternoon?
I still can’t join. Even with a new character, the game will freeze in the loading screen or it will just give a message: ‘‘cannot join game’’.

As many people in this thread. Waited over an hour. I have not been disconnected abruptly. I have logged off from my char to switch and servers went down while I was in a lobby. Now I cannot logg in any char bcs of this issue. Waited an hour ( I have no problem to wait 1 hr) but come on to wait 24 hrs bcs of your server issues that is not funny.

Stuck aswell for over 2 hours…
Insane that they just don’t run this script every 30 mins or 1 hour… or what about another great solution… FIX THE FREAKING PROBLEM
