I would like to talk about the action bar, and more specifically its lack in the PC version (Mouse & Keyboard).
I totally understand nostalgia etc, but the optional classic / modern control version wouldn’t hurt anyone.
There was a post that in D2R there will be no “piano playing” but a modernized layout … so where is it?
I will answer myself on consoles and pads. And now let’s skip the arguments "because it was not like that 21 years ago"

Why is the port on the consoles so different in the basis of the control mechanics? And I guess that the pads had to adjust the controls so that the port was playable at all, but why at the cost of such a split in the feelings of the game.
Finally, the action bar should be the same option as eg Auto collect gold(on/off) … for everyone on each platform.
Let Diablo spread the terror for the next 20 years.

I completely agree with OP. There’s no reason the same action bar not be available for KB+M. Please Blizz, it would greatly improve the experience for some many players, and make things totally fair for poor Paladins whose Aura has to hog the RMB.

There is a reason why every ARPG after Diablo 2 included one. Even Diablo 2 has one, but limited to only 2 spaces.

All these babies screaming Diablo 3 when they have no argument. And all the time we’re just asking for features that are in Path of Exile, the gold standard of arpgs of this century
When the buffoon squad yell “go play D3” at you, just reply that they should go play the original D2 instead, which hasn’t gone anywhere and is still available for the purists who fear change. This is D2R, a completely different animal, and we should all rejoice in its ability to change and evolve with the times. It’s already taken some small positive steps, it just needs a few more like this one to really take off.
Case in point, my usual APRG group won’t touch it (other than 1 guy) just because it doesn’t have the controller-style skill bar for M+KB. If that option were added, that’s 3 more sales right there.
Yes, it’s not like Classic WoW which was simply not (legally) available before it’s relaunch.
Also, how come modern graphics and HD resolution are not bad? Doesn’t that make the game way easier and D3-like? I hope these people all play on classic graphics so they’re no hypocrites.
