Has there been confirmation that this queue is a permanent feature?

Topic. Is this it, unless the player count goes down?

Or is the queue a temporary “fix” while they look into the crash issues?

Have they actually said?

It’ll be permanent, more than likely, until it starts costing them money. That’s about the only thing that changes a company’s mind on any given decision. Which is why I’m completely avoiding D4 when it comes out. With how they’re handling this I am not paying to go through similar bull twice.

They didn’t say that this is a permanent solution.

It will probably be a permanent feature they can turn on and off at will, that said hopefully they fix the server issues soon because they stretch further than just the queue feature.
Once you actually get into the game you can feel how bad the servers are holding up just with general gameplay, and in my opinion they feel like they are getting worse over time.

They have to rewrite the server base code from scratch give them some time its not here to say as both threads suggest and countless mods have pointed out if you had searched for the topic ITS TEMPORARY calm down play single player lol

Yeah, of course they didn’t have time do do this during the dev of the remake.

It was smarter to wait and try to spend the less money possible.

40 € to calm down.

You should clown down.

No no no, you are wrong! Local experts are saying that they just need to buy more server power

i dont care about a queue i just want to be able to join games from the lobby…

They didn’t know that it would become an issue till AFTER release if you bothered reading there thread about why it is they need to do the rewrite you’d understand instead of throwing your toys out of your pram and attempting to trigger a random player on the internet.

They already said it is only a temporary fix.

Let’s not forget we also had queues on the original D2 for a short period when people started mass botting in 1.09. I guess it’s just part of the gameplay we know and love.

When exactly were these queues? Did you play D2 LoD?
I played LoD and botting was part of the game since the beginning.
I had never waited in a queue for an hour. I did not have problems creating games, or joining games, or joining games. I did not get rolled back characters, and to be honest 1.09 was a million times better than 1.1x.
If there were any queues, I don’t remember them, because they were insignificantly short.

One of the stickied threads at the top of the forum says the queues are to make it easier for the D2R team to fix server issues as they crop up, and they will gradually increase the pop cap.

So, it’s not technically permanent in the sense that eventually it will be high enough that users will rarely be thrown into a queue.

It seems Blizzard heavily underestimated how many people would be rushing to play Diablo 2, and now they’re having to do lots of architecture changes and updates that they assumed wouldn’t be necessary - because the people in charge are dumb as bricks and completely out of touch.

They only looked at the relatively small D3 population, and ignored the droves of players who ditched it because it wasn’t as good as Diablo 2.

They challenge the player’s limits day after day, and I can tell you clearly that they don’t plan to fix it, only Remington can solve the problem.

You totally did have trouble creating and joining games. It was called realm down and it lasted 15 minutes, and then another 15 minutes every time you tried to get on again before the time was up.

Yeah it was D2 LoD. Botting wasn’t all that widespread until the pindlebot became extremely popular in 1.09. These bots made so many games that the servers could not handle the traffic and we got queues for game creation, rather than logging in. It started with a few seconds, but soon became a couple minutes of waiting for each new game created. It didn’t bother people who made long games, but quick runs became impossible. This is also why Blizzard put the “realm down” restrictions into place when making too many games per hour.

That would require Communication in the first place no?

so 2 hr queues bulls…t …i payed my money twice for this game now i wanna f…g play it with no f… queues…plus project diablo is f… 40 times the game this sh…t is

Don’t think the que is permanent, but i’m sure the whining will be regardless.

cant play single player since my character is not there…if you could lvl up and grind in single player mode and then later upload it I would. But start a new character just to play offline (sadly it is most of the time since the QUE IS OVER 1HOUR)

Since Queues are their solution to the server problem, its kinda obvious more servers would do the trick no?
