In game chat doesn't work

I can’t join the lobby and when i join games only my messages that i type don’t show and i also can’t see anyone else’s messages.

Is there a fix??

same problem, blizz in-denial as per.

Same issue from day 1. Assumed it would have been patched by now?

not a bug enable the online chat function in gameplay options bottom of second Options thing it turns itself off randomly

I have it enabled in game, and on my battle.net acct and havent seen chat since launch. it worked in the beta tho. any fixes???

Same problem. That’s really disappointing that Blizzard hasn’t acknowledged this yet. I just spent $40 on a game and can’t enjoy the online portion of it. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Hi all,

We’re not aware of any known issues with this, but as Squid mentioned above this functionality does need to be enabled in the Gameplay Settings.

Additionally, depending on your region you may need to enable chat in your account settings here: https://account.battle.net/privacy

I have text chat enabled on my battle.net account, and also in game in D2R and havent seen chat since launch. ( makes it impossible to trade :frowning: ), It did work in the beta phase tho. any tips/fixes?? seen one about copying/deleting and pasting your /user folder tried that and didnt help.

I cannot see anyone in lobby or chat in game.

same for me since launch, also same thing if i try the other servers, not being able to chat in trade games is a joke, and makes me not want 2 play

same here since 3 days i cannot chat I cannot see anyone in lobby, i cannot see anything that people texting, trading is imposible

Yup same problem here. No solutions anywhere… My friend confirmed what im typing in game does display but I cant see it nore what he types back. I cant even see messages direct send back and fourth BUT if I message him from the battle net launcher its fine…but anything typed from within the game doesnt show in the log on that either…but does for my friend. Trying to see if a redownload and reinstall will fix it now.

Such a bizzare bug thats been going on for days and blizz hasnt addressed the issue at all. The patch today didnt fix it nore did running a repair tool. At this point if itsa not going to be fixed and this is just a more buggy version of diablo 2, might aswell try to get a refund and just buy OG diablo 2.

Uh, I’ve made a few posts on the broken chat channel system outlining exactly what is broken after hours of testing and you guys just ignore it.

Now, regular chat works fine for me BUT the channel system is BROKEN. If I create a channel with “/channel join xyz” and my friend tries to do the same it puts him in a different channel. In order to be in the same channel I have to manually invite him. The only way for him to join is to type “/channel accept”. This is for PUBLIC channels. Why do public channels require invites as if they were private? Why can’t someone join a chat channel without being invited? Why can two channels exist with the same name? Why when you type “/channel join xyz” does it create a new copy of the channel instead of joining the one already there?

Same problem here, it works, then it doesnt, then it works again, then it doesnt, then all my messages will come thru randomly in one game. its ridiculous, also queue times, crazy disconnection issues, crashes. honestly this is one of the worst game launches ive ever been a part of.

Started a couple weeks ago, where it would just take like 30 mins to fix itself.
NOW, bout 3 days ago, I can’t type in game, I can’t see what others are typing, I can’t even see when people leave and join the game.
I HAVE checked setting, reset setting, and even did the “allow online chat” box.
relog. NOTHING is fixing it.
PLEASE FIX THIS issue… it’s pointless to play online, if you cant interact with others online

y, ive noticed this bug aswell… But since there’s so many of them, i kind of has already forgotten about this one since it doesn’t occur that often and there are more major issues out there.
