Inventory space to small

per Google-Translator

It’s also a question of storage space. D2R has only been paid for once, and character storage will be made available free of charge for years to come. This can add up to several thousand / million dollars for additional storage space. That should also be considered.

Nice try avoiding the point instead of countering it. Instead, you just proved it completly.

If you blame the system for the choice YOU made, the problem is not the system.

stop defending a shitty system. it should be improved

Using your own words, it is your arguments that are shitty, not the system.
The char inventory should remain as is because it is a part of gameplay. I would not, however, object to a bigger or even limitless (up to 100 slots) stash because it is the mule part which is really tedious.

Because it’s part of gameplay doesn’t mean it can’t be improved. It’s like being proud of the new paintjob on your horsecarriage’s wooden wheels while there are smooth rubber tires available.
Enjoy the bumpy ride!

What is meant by “improved”? Making it easier for a person who does not know how to manage his inventory? Then this person should improve his skills, no?

Some of the best items are rare - so everytime some rare drop you need to stop id throw it away or go to town if you wanna keep.

You pick up 2 gems 1 rune, next 2h wep you cant pick up…thats just stupid, und nothing about “inventory management”.

It feels like spending more time picking up items id - throw away than playing the game.
It just destroys the game flow

Good rare items are even rarer than uniques. You really don’t have to go to town every now and then because of them. And for runes and such you have the cube with plenty of space for several runes and one 6-cell item or two 4-cell items.

BTW, little trick: when not using the Horadric Cube, use it for storage. You can put several gems in there. Just make sure you don’t accidentally activate it while your using it to hold stuff. :stuck_out_tongue:

you know the old game?
in the “old days” you bought d2 maybe + lod. now you was able to create as much accounts as you want with this one/two keys.
this means you was able to create unlimited chars results in unlimited stash. there was tools helping you managing all this accounts and alle the space.
this was at a time where thinking about 1gb hdd space was only possible for server to afford this prices.

now 20+years later. we have only one account. limited char amount. 1gb hdd space is not enough to use your OS. now it is to expensive allow more space?

Are you really trying to defend that tedious way of playing?
You just explained exactly why a dedicated charm inventory would be a great improvement.
Thanks :upside_down_face:

How about the reverse? just make the inventory of the horadic cube double size. So you can stash one or two items more there. You still have the common character-inventory and still have to manually drag items into the cube. And you still have to carry the TP and ID-book in your inventory to get the icons at you skills-tab. Same for keys.

I think, this wouldn’t realy hurt. (But it shouldn’t get much bigger than double the size it is now, imho.)

OR make the Horadic cube the only inventory (without sizing up) charms work. You then have a 4x6 space only for charms. That’s much less, you have now, but if you want to be able to pick up some items, you shouldn’t carry more charms anyway. (although I except most peaple do, if they want to make exp-runs…)
I opt for the first option, though, because, the latter would greatly change the balance of the game, while the first wouldn’t.

OMG :man_facepalming:
My dear improventalists, plooters and other “modernizers”, why don’t you leave this tedious and outdated game alone and go play something nicey, modernized and “great again”? Which part of poor archaic Diablo 2 is so thickly spread with honey that you continue to come here like flies?

Now before I begin I want to say that Blizzard are VERY unlikely to do any actual changes to the game like a charm inventory at this point.

We had some dude come to the PD2 discord yesterday and start preaching about how a charm inventory would trivialize the game. The guy was speaking complete bogus most of the time and his opinion was completely set in stone, not to be changed by any logic or argument.

A charm inventory would essentially change 2 things about D2.
1: You would have room for 1x extra skiller. Hooray.
2: You would be able to:
—*A: Pick up a lot more items while leveling or in the early endgame to just sell for gold.
—*B: Avoid having to pick up items into the horadric cube and go through the tedious 30 sec it takes to stash 4 charms, grab the items from the cube, cain ID them and either sell/drop/stash them before picking up your charms again every 3-4 MF runs.
—*C: Actually pick up more than 1x 2slot wide item when doing for example Cows for base hunting before having to go to town again and stash.

To be summarized, a charm inventory only ever changes your “game difficulty” by “+1 skills” as well as allowing you as a player to play a bit more unhindered by game mechanics.

Is a charm inventory good? Yes, pretty good.
Will it ever be added? Unlikely.
Would I want one added? Yup, kind of.
Can you still do everything you can do with a charm inventory without one? Yes you can.

What I would like to see more than a charm inventory is a 4x4 cube and “full inventory” automatically picking the item up to the cube. Alternatively, an option which just leaves the cube “open” as long as your inventory is open. Allowing you to sell/ID/stash items from the cube directly as opposed to having fiddle with it as much as we do atm.

What I would really like to see about all this inventory staff is Deckard Cain identifying things inside the Cube. That would really be a huge improvement.

Imagine being so hell bent on preventing streamlining tedium :upside_down_face:

If the personal inventory is made larger, then we deviate from the old game which had you running back to town to empty your bags, sell items etc.

I am not against such a departure because I think it simply is a QoL change, excluding 100s of charms and dozens weapons you can swap on the fly and that’s why I can fully understand if others are against it.

It’s not about inventory made bigger, it’s about charms getting their own dedicated place, like rings and armor, thus freeing up place for loot making the game a bit more streamlined and less tedious without changing the games balance.
Try explaining that to the purity priests though…

We just finally need a charm inventory, thats whats outdated for no reason other then being annoying.

There must be a way to collect all sets and their equipments. I prefer to collect and to catalogize my Items. Maybe there is a way organize it under the aspect of difficults (Normal, Nightmare and Hell). So if blizzard would give us a bigger stash, you are able to archive the experiance, like with a Soccer Sickter Book. I say game is done, when i got ´em all… ;D

If you, blizz, don´t want it, because u think that would be that would be a point in a Loot game, or not an experiance, that should´t experiance in an adventure, then i habe the idea, that runes and gems are stackable - that would help too. I could spare 2 more packing mules…

think about an do it!
Kind regards
