So why nobody is talking about a3 fix?

  • Players now must smash the Compelling Orb to enter the Durance of Hate, instead of killing the Council. This means the “Khalim’s Will” quest needs to be completed to use the Durance of Hate Level 2 waypoint.

Developer Comments: We saw that due to a logic glitch, players often chose to skip required content within Act III by bypassing “Khalim’s Will” quest and not experiencing much of what Act III has to offer. We decided to make the “Khalim’s Will” quest a proper requirement to complete Act III, much like how players need to assemble the Horadric Staff to enter Tal Rasha’s Chamber in Act II.

I like doing act3, but I am surprised that nobody is talking about it.

For me this is a major setback as my only real way to get runes was to pull characters to hell HF.

At least they should increase the max. rune possible NM HF to Mal or Ist and Hell HF to Vex or Ohm… something like that. There’s a ton of extra effort required to go through Act 3 now and HF should account for that.

Another idea: change the Act 5 Ral-Ort-Tal quest to drop 3 random runes up to XYZ on Hell…?

It literally adds 5-7min/difficulty when you are rushing someone…

Last night I completed A3 without making the flail… It was impossible to join a friend’s game when he was inside durance of hate. otherwise , not a problem…

Disagree, that method was broken and unfair, I am glad they did this.

Aboslutely agree, the game should be like this. If you want to pass fast act 3 you should make all quests and this add just extra 5min to the rush! If you dont like it just quit and shut the door after you Thanks.

OP is mad because he is doing classic rush into hell then converting char to expansion so he can farm Hellforge, so this change adds him extra time.

I remember how broken was Uber tristram XP service.

Nobody wanted to play act 3, everyone just skipped it. Every time you found a game with random strangers, as soon as you reached act 3 either they all leave or someone comes back with their higher level and just skips the act. Now we can all just continue playing, it’s not that bad.

I like act 3 the least from a gameplay perspective but we already have little content in the game, might as well enjoy most of it.

A3 maps are hard to read, but its still such a fun act. I don’t understand the need to always rush everything.

HAHAHHA death to most rush Sorcs and the rise of the rush barb.

Lol. A3 is a pos and the faster we skip through it the better. These patches are really ridiculous.

They didn’t go far enough. The game should follow what D3 does - funneling players into actual content and promoting team-play instead facilitating rushing through for ‘runs’.

lol are you serious :upside_down_face:

Act3 maps can get frustrating at time. There is a reason why some players simple wait for rush instead of entering the forest.

How is that death?

Merc exists… lol nothing changes just adds more time to do it.

yep this change hurts alot if u want skip act 3 but as solo selffound hc player it doesnt matter i have to do this

I am not against this fix as I do act3 this way (not sure why people are saying op op lolol). BUT I am against them taking options from people. So many find this act sucks due to the unwelcomed jungle design. This is why they skip it.

Are we going to ignore the fact that people finish Act1 by killing andy only? The same goes for Act4? Are they going to patch this as well and make andy possible by finishing all quests?

Why force people for Act2 experience? And not act1/4/5 ?

I don’t mean this offensive but who cares? First off ive encountered this but you can still enter the durance of hate via a wp(and once the mep quest is done, you auto complete the council quest). And even if not, it takes 2-3 extra mins to get those things.

Also can someone tell me why sorcs would fail to rush now? Like the council is the 2nd hardest thing to do right after the ancients, so how would a sorc that can solo the council fail at the flail components?

people complaining it’s “not fair” “not everyone needs to rush”…so then play the game, no one needs to play any certain way. actually ridiculous that people think this is a good change. forcing any type of “play through” is ridiculous, let people play the way they want to play.
