I mean, it felt good to find items that are “rare” and have some kind of “value”.
But will Blizzard get this sh. together? I really hope so. Trading was never been this good the early days!
I am unsure of the full implications, care to explain?
I following some Forums and the first order of basicly 10 farming sorcs came in for one guy. This means, he will botting the shiet out of it and others will follow. This means that your items or your gg Torch you just hardly farmed will be wortless in a couple of days, and farming feels worthless again.
So many players will just quit the game because farming for nothing is bad in a game thats about trading and farming. D2 had the problem, but I really hoped that Blizzard could do something about this.
In my memory, Diablo 2 died to bots and dupes.
All those “legit” Enigmas? Sure.
So I strongly feel that a trading league/season whatever can only work with active measures against those things. I doubt that’ll happen though, so at this point we mostly have a single player game.
It didn’t die, but its much less fun to farm for nothing.
It could also mean that guy owns a item shop or has some random 3rd world employees farming the shit out of d2.
But yeah probably bots will appear soon, still now they can’t cheap out on cdkeys like on OG d2. So bans will hurt them a lot. Maybe it wont hurt big bot nets as they are linked to item shops but it will prevent all random users from botting.
The problem is that the loot is not there… I am in Act 4 Nighmare and still use a Sword that Ball drop in Normal and a helm from smewhere in Normal… …
If there will be boots lots of players will use them since game not that is not rewarding, but is crazy unbalanced in terms of loot. If in Normal/Nighmare you do not see upgrade drops then what to expect in Hell late game…
The loots are there: for me it was (great drops ): Cham second day, ETH reapers Toll second day, shako,occy, gheeds 40 yesterday. Some more but didnt keep everything in mind
You probably lack knowledge and experience. It’s very easy to make cheap builds if you know what you are doing. Farm countess on nightmare, make this super cheap runewords: Lore, Rhyme, Smoke, Spirit, Insight.
That is the way the game is supposed to be getting a ubre rare drop should be like wining the lottery there should only be 1 or 2 legendary drops in the whole game…getting a set should be a major accomplishment !

Exactly, when you have, say, 1 million players, some of them could be simply farmers, some are simply lucky, in the end you have some items that you could in theory trade for other items and since there is NO official trading forum, your trading is OUTSIDE the game, it could involve real money or exchanges with items from other games…
In the end why do you really care if some people are using bots or hard labour or are simply very lucky? Let others do what they wish with their games, Diablo is not a persistent world, your games are private. When I play my game I do not give a damn who else might be playing at the same time, or botting, or multi-boxing. It does not affect me in the least.
If you use OUTSIDE trading platforms and THEIR economy is skewed/disturbed by botting, then their forums are where to complain to.
Not really, I always checking what runewords can do when got a socketed item. But, socketed items not really dropped until now and lot of runes not really available, e.g. Lum rune for Smoke runeword you suggested drop only in Hell from Caountess…
Lum rune drops on nightmare countess :). If u need socketed items run normal cows or nightmare. It’s very easy, you just need time and to get a bit lucky.
Lum is not in her primary rune drop table which ends at Io. You can farm for three Ios and cube them like you cube 3 Rals into an Ort in normal. Also, technically she can drop up to Ko but that’s her regular loot table, so the odds of that even rolling a rune are slim.
This is what I meant by saying it’s effectively a single player game when dupes and bots exists. They do not affect you when you stick to yourself and your peers, true.
But step out of that bubble and try to trade for something and I bet you’re getting dirty money. Don’t you see how everyone and their dog treats Enigma like a starter item to be taken for granted?

So for sure it is already time.
It’s not hard, maphack was available since open beta and bots are coming now. I really really hope banwaves hit hard for this

Do not trade then, because you have no idea where these items have come from. If you do trade then you unwillingly support the botters and maybe the hackers too.
Where’s the fun in that? 1% of the player base get the joy of amazing drops and the rest get nothing? Yeah good luck holding the interest of a large, modern, more casual playerbase for your game with that depressing model.
