So, as stated by dinosaurs that play D2 since 2000s, you need to farm 20 years to get high end items, high runes, keys for Ubers, essences. This was even named as “old good random”, so, do not speculate that loot is not ok, it is ok according to life-less dinosaurs and you just need to farm 20 years and maybe, just maybe, you will get a LO rune(one dinosaur stated that he never saw a LO rune drop in 20 years, but according to him even that is ok).
Good luck in the next 20 years! see you in Diablo 5 release(you might skip enterily Diablo 4 because you needt o farm !!!)
Like everybody already said, why do you need to find a specific rune ever? I never saw a ist, ber or jah, hell i also never found a shako but so what (never in d2, d2 lod and d2r combined). There is no need to find those items in order to play the game since there are a lot of other items.
If you dont like that in d2 there are items you probably will never find yourself just go and play something else, you dont have to like the game, thats totally fine, people like different stuff.
There is no need to farm 20 years if you accept the fact that you dont have to find every single item yourself.

I said I’ve played the game since release on and off and have never seen a Lo and a few other runes drop.
Your puny mind made that into having to farm 20 years non stop putting in full time job hours in order to even have a chance to see one. Which is wrong.
But whatever, you’ll keep spouting this nonsense nonetheless, so have fun playing whatever game you’re interested in. This game just isn’t the one for you

I also may be one of the dinosaurs you mentioned, and like Dude from above, I have never had a Shako. So what? I do not need it or Lo rune or whatever to enjoy this game because there is a lot of other ways to develop your favourite character. You may even acquire that Shako or Lo, if you are so obsessed with it, by upgrading or trade. So please play something that you enjoy, and do not question other people’s right to enjoy in a different way than you.

GRIEF runeword was introduced because melee builds were absolutely garbage compared to caster builds. LO rune is needed for making Grief and Fortitude runewrods which are mandatory for being able to play a melee build in pair with caster builds.
Do you know that Lo rune can be made of two Ohm runes + diamond, I think? Or just traded for something? 
That is one of the points that really sucked in D3. Because of the personalized loot you mostly got stuff for the class you were playing and only few things for other classes. Therefore you continued to concentrate on that character. Really decouraged playing multiple characters which for me is an important part of Diablo.
I really hate personalized loot stuff.

To be fair, I guess what most people wish for when asking for personal loot is something like in Poe, where everything can drop for all classes but it’s divided among players.
Options like free-for-all, personal loot or timed personal loot where it becomes available for everyone after a set time could be an improvement and gives everyone the option of playing the way they like best.

The drop isnt wrong, but the people playing this game has gotten older and the patience for playing has dramatically decreased. Playing for hours and hours and days and days 20 years ago isnt the same thing as today, because its much harder to find the time and patience.
Thats it, we are older relics trying to relive our youth but not admitting we dont have the time for it.
EDIT: Just want to clarify that I like that, I love that this game doesnt have instant gratification but you need to farm and farm and put into the time and effort to get bis gear.

Not saw Ohm either. I had a SUR, but this nobody need it… LO is different, is rarest than ZOD for some reasons.
I did about 600-1000 Mephi runs, don’t know acutally but it was many runs.
My sorc got: 50% MF WTS, Shako, OCCU, Arach, 38% chance guards, gold wrap, Eth Skullders, 2x Nagl - 26 and 27%. I found 2 LOs, 1 Ohm and some mid Runes and tons of other really nice Uniques like 3 Blizzard Ormus. 4!!! Stormshields etc.
Loot is absolutely fine.
You are lying, LO does not drop in Act 3.
bruh, i found 2. One dropped of mephi and the second from the council before mephi.
The possibility of Lo dropping starts in hell act 2 and upwards. It can also drop in lvl 85 side areas in act 1 (no idea about other areas like crypt and hole though)

it’s called randomness. D3 is a hovering parent, always holding your hand insuring you’re happy. Diablo 2 doesn’t hover at all. Random is random.
wtf 10k runs… well with a decent MF sorc the results should be way better. I need 40-70 seconds per run. 350+MF. But even 60 sec in average is awful… 167 hours. 2 hours per day (in average) = 83 days. Holy…

MF will not have impact on HR drop, btw. If you want to make some estimates for yourself I recommend reading notes - dude describes all the details… the one below is very important:
Note : I have to make this clarification, the first 2000 runs were on P7 and the rest of the 8000 runs were on P3. I thought P7 would net me a lot more high runes but it did not really, only found 3 HR in the first 2K, maybe i was unlucky but i did find a lot of good items. Then i switched over to P3 and i found 35 in 8K runs. I end up doing each run at least 33% faster. It took me around 4 Hours to do 100 runs on P7 and it only took 2 and half hours on P3. So i was able to save more than 1 hour on P3 and do an additional 50 runs in the same time.
150 runs P3 4 hours compare to 100 runs P7 in 4 hours. I was foolish on thinking i was going to run 10K Mephisto on P7 only. I would of been able to do it but it would of taken me a lot longer to finish. I would most likely be still running Mephisto right now if i did it only P7. I guess i took the easy way out.
I think P3 is the most optimal player setting to run Mesphito to balance out rewards and speed. I did get 4 Arachnid Mesh in the first 2K runs on P7 and then found 8 more from the 8000 on P3. 1 Arachnid Mesh per 500 Runs on P7 and 1 in 1000 on P3. So the item drop rate is certainly better, even though the correlation might be 2X higher chance it is not for certain. I had around the same MF on both player setting 225% on P7 and 228% on P3 due to me leveling up and finding better war travs.
