I suspect people are just logging in and staying in the game even if they want to play or not, just so they can get in. Who can blame them? I’ve been in the same position in the queue for 20 minutes.
This is not a solution Blizzard, and is not what we payed for. A queue that never moves is worse than a server that crashes once a day.

You suspected right. My game is always opened and you do not get disconnected from the server.
Another spectacularly inept idea by Blizzard. They can’t even do queues properly.

We get told we’re playing wrong by only doing short runs. I made my runs longer but I don’t think I’ve managed to complete a single one this morning because they always end in a crash before baal or diablo. Then join an ever increasing queue. If this is how blizzard approach their server problems, I think this will be the last game I buy from blizzard. I never had this much frustration with the original D2 or even D1.
Good job blizzard, you lost your warcraft fanbase with that remaster, now looks like you’re trying to lose your diablo fanbase.
Brightside, if the vicarious visions team break away from blizzard, I will purchase from them again. The same is wonderful if you overlook the server issues.

Same… queue for 1 hour… got in a game… crashed immediatly… now again queue thats twice as long… GREA. Im getting murdery
y same her waited 50 min then cannot connect to bnet when i came in i started que again, same again.
Since the queue started i was not amused but i wait my time patiently (roughly between 20 and 45 minutes).
I just logged in and the queue was 144 so i waited 26 minutes.
By then my chars came on in offline mode so i clicked the online mode and guess what another queue of 184,needless to say im pretty annoyed now.
Blizzard fix this…no more freaking queues…fix your damn broken game gloeiende gloeiende.I am still waiting and the went to 185 now…jhc.

Its not linear. Refreshing the position can take a while. Was 15min in the queue and jumped from 134 to 91
same here. 30 Min in the queue and no position changed.
same for me, i am number 146 and have been so for 20min maybe alittle less.
blizzard should kick people who have been online playing for more then 4 or 6 hours, maybe let some of us with jobs get some D2 time.
Oh, I see. So it only updates around every 15 minutes! I guess currently I’ll have to wait hours to actually get in! >_>
So seems like after weeks and weeks nothing has changed, but at least we got this cool log-in queue box
