I would like to express my opinion about this wonderful and epic game that i played the first time and also now with this new version.
I think that the game itself mantained all his pro and cos as you promised but in 2022 the end game of this product is totally boring.
When you reach hell you find out (if you don’t know it) that only a real small group of builds and classes are viable in hell, especially for farming. You’ve the sorceress with meteorb or blizzball, the hammerdin and the wind druid. All other classes and builds cannot compete in any way and in particular any melee build it’s a pain to play unless you have big end game equip.
Added to that, you will repeat the same 3/4 areas forever, throwing away every other place of this world.
I hope this patch will fix the majority of theese problems (surely there will be a lot new 85 areas i see) but in the end the main problem will not be fixed: the big difference in playing magic builds instead of melee builds.
Every class shoud have the same quality in playing, just in a different way and it is not and it has never been in diablo 2.
I know a lot of people will tell me to simply change game but i love it and i think it is still the better one in 2022, it has to be fixed, that’s all.
You gave two of the most stupid answers you could do. This is not a pvp game, at all, pvp in this game is like salad in a dish, side dish in the best scenario.
And for the first answer, nobody cares cause this is classic game? I let you know something: this game was simply not updated because it was a dead game, not becuase it was “classic”. Luckily for us now that they’ve seen the success of this product they will update it, applying changes so that it will be more balanced.
end-game is a continous challenge that players have access to, after finishing the main campaign, meaning there is always a reason to improve the char.
now, there are some possibilities to do that of course, e.g. D3 has Greater Rifts, Warhammer Chaosbane has Tower climb(quite good), Grimdawn has that “arena”… the idea is that you have a challenge with a progression system, where you need to push the char to the limits to “climb” the levels as much as possible. having leaderboards for that is even a reason in plus to push for.
The problem is when this game was created there was no such thing as “end game” content. Look at games released at a similar time, final fantasy 9 , metal gear, tony hawks even, command and conquer.
There maybe the odd 1 with what we now expect after the levelling process at that time.
D2 was a new breed, the end game is the grind lol. To find the perfect gear! Not given the perfect gear right at the start which is what most games are like now!
Endgame is character developement and item chase.
That’s endgame in D3 in PoE and also in D2.
Some games add some flavour with special boss design or league mechanics and thats it.
Nobody cares about D3 Rifts. It is simple content even on the most difficult level. It requires zero skill and just increases the numbers. At some point your damage becomes the bottleneck and you stack monsters and overlap multipliers to oneshot large packs and fish for the easier rift layouts.
Hack’n’Slay games where never ment to be difficult in terms of mechanics because the core concept is to just slay some monsters and loot.
And obviously new games should be more interesting than a 20 years old game right? Some people just don’t like the new flavour. Get over it.
Maybe they should add some endgame mechanics to chess instead. I think most chess players would like that. Irony off
Yeah, the “end game” of diablo like games and so diablo 2 also is the loot hunt and the focus on having the strongest gear for your characters, that’s right and good.
I’m just arguing that farming the end game gear in diablo 2 is boring because there are too little areas and too little builds you can use to farm, that’s the problem.
OK First they added UBERs. it is an end game feature.
Also you can play over and over with more and more player in the game to raise difficulty.
So stipulate that there is no end game is false. If you think that there is not enough endgame, it is ok.
But this is by design, they never stay that they will add content.
What is missing, in your opinion is NEW content after Hell. An yway if they add content, it must be different from diablo3 and Diablo4. Each diablo need to be unique.
Totally false. Item chase and char developement is to prepare for end game.
No, in D3 players play Greater Rifts 90% of the time, because there is the fun.
For example:
item farming and char developing is like having a garage where you tune a rally car that you have, making it very fast, very stable, very cool…
end-game(e.g. Greater Rifts) is when you go and try that car on a real rally track to see how really fast and stable it is. without end-game you can not know if you improve your car by change it its tyres with another ones, you need to benchmark it, to test it.
Don’t mind this maix guy hes a german with mental illness just report him for It’s Inappropriate so he doesn’t spread his brain diarrhea further and catapults the germans back 80 years.
Then try to play Greater Rifts with 10000 Paragon Level. No challenge at all. So what’s the point in having endless paragon level grind?
Greater Rifts are also capped at 150.
By your statement PoE doesn’t have endgame, d3 doesn’t have endgame. No Game where you can overequip your character has endgame. But your opinion doesn’t really have much value here anyways.
Also engineering is endgame for engineers aswell. Not driving the car.
do not know, I have paragon 4100 in non-season. only boots have 10000+.
but I have not proposed paragon for D2R, from where did you get that? now you start puting words in my mouth?
Then you don’t really play much ( having not much experience). Most competetiv people reach lvl 1000 on their first day each season. And the xp is added to non-season after each cycle.
