This error usually indicates that there is a connectivity problem of some kind. Please have a look into this article here.
Other reasons that have been reported of causing this are:
- If using Chroma/Razer Synapse, disable it.
- Disable Radeon Image Sharpening, if you are using an AMD graphics card.
Changing gameplay option via the desktop app from 32bit to 64 bit stopped 1016 for me
So basicly, “disable your hardware when you try to play our games…”
I’m using Synapse 3 and have had no problems with it.
Going to AMD on next machine (waiting for Ryzen 9 5900X, everything else already @home) and if I encounter any problems I’ll try 2 different version of Win10 (1909 / 20H2).
