Is there any advantage to items having indestructible other than saving on repair costs? Are there any demons that can destroy your equipment outright?
Get to level 70 and get sets and legendary items and play at Torment 1 and upwards and you will rake in more than enough gold for repairs.

It allows you to die as many times as you want inside rifts without the need to go back to town :)))
Apparently, each time you die you lose 10% of your durability. That makes you more vulnerable cumulatively, making the likelihood of dying again and again higher each time.
Having items indestructible circumvents that mortal cycle
It’s only when items are completely broken that they lose their power (untill they are repaired). Just taking damage will gradually wear your items’ durability down.
