Diablo III Freezing

This happened now and then at start but now I can just sit in character selection and within 5 mins the game freeze (left screen goes gray and game screen goes black for a while then I can only force-kill the diablo process).

Warcraft, Warcraft Classic, Overwatch and heartstone works just fine and never crash.

I tried reinstalling and resetting settings in diablo and I even tried reinstalling windows on a new SSD but the result is the same: Diablo III Crashes but no other game.

Worked fine until a couple of days ago.

Boubou tyvm for your post but no, I’m not using any razer gear. I use Roccat keyboard and Logitech mouse.

Sorry to hear that you’ve been freezing while you play Diablo III recently. Given the issue, I’d like to test if it occurs when running it in compatibility mode for windows 7 or 8.

If the issue persists, please upload your system files to pastebin.com and reply with the links to the files using the preformatted text option to encapsulate the links.

Compability mode didn’t help BUT when I ran 32 bit instead of 64 it stopped crashing but then GFX got a bit stuttering.

Nice my 110gr char on HC died doing bountys… to freeze even tho i instantly closed game . Back to POE

Same is happening to me, game loads and freezes as the character data is loading.
Screen goes grey if I try to leave the game.
Hard reset needed every time.
How are you going to fix this? M

Hi Cryonic!

You can also put it into a text file and upload it somewhere you can store files, then link it in the forum :slight_smile: Somewhere like dropbox or google drive etc should work just fine.

There’s also a section on the page for acquiring system files which explains how you can make the file smaller without losing the data we need to see.

Hey there Cryonic, thanks for the files!

From the error logs in your msinfo it seems that the game crashes may be due to a driver related issue.
Would you be so kind as to try the following steps?

At this point, considering the selective startup you should have little to no 3rd party apps running, make sure that is indeed the case and try opening the game again.

Felranys I have even tried a complete reinstall of windows and putting ONLY nvidia drivers and DIII and it still crash.
