Diablo IV Price is way too high

Some people seem to be in complete denial about Blizzard’s digitally distributed game costing 2-3 times as much as the average price of games sold at retail, i.e. physical copies.

This isn’t just about about the cost of the game, it’s about whether people consider that cost to be value for money or not. People could buy 2-3 other games for the same price as this. Is Blizzard’s game good enough to justify such a high price tag?

I had the same argument about D2R. For me, the price tag was trivial but the value proposition was absolutely zero because I’d played D2 back in 2000 and, whilst D2R had a shiny coat of paint on it, it was the same gameplay as from two decades ago. It could have cost £5 and I still wouldn’t have bought it.

To me, a game costing £90 would have to be spectacularly good and it absolutely, 100% needs to include everything at that price, i.e. no nickel and diming for micro-transactions on top of that.

I didn’t pre-order D4 when it was announced, and I’m still on the fence as to whether I’ll buy it at all.
