High latency to blizzard

A couple months ago i started having high latency to d3 server,
i though the issue will resolve itself but the problem still persist.
having a constant 140+ ping to the server is barely playable specially with the wizard skill: teleport.
almost every time i press it i got rollback to my initial location.

below are 2 WINMtr
this one is from blizzard and the one after is to poe server
with a 80ms to their server, ironically enough they are
both located in the same city!

any help in that regard will be much appreciated.

You’re seeing significant packet loss on both traces starting at hop 4 within the 172.17.xxx.xxx range.

Any IP address within these ranges…
10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255
…are private addresses, i.e. they’re within your local network. That means a local device is either deliberately dropping ICMP or has a fault. First thing you should investigate is your local hub / router, possibly with the involvement of your ISP.

thank you for the reply Meteorblade.
i’m aware of those packets drop, but my online activity is smooth on any online game, stream, and whatever else.
if that much packets were truly droped i’m pretty sure i wouldn’t be able to log the game, in fact i do couple hours of rathma runs daily on hardcore. i will check with my isp,but the main issue i believe is having a 140 ping instead of 80.

Hi, ProZaxk! o/

You are correct in your assumption about that package loss. Those nodes are probably only answering the first few requests from the test, and then start ignoring you, which is why you can see that the package loss is not spread down (if those packages were really lost, you would expect to see similar numbers all the way down, and not only in 3 nodes, specially when they are so high).

What I can say though is that the high latency seems to start at the node 213.57.3.116, where you get a worst answer time of around 92 milliseconds (notice you don’t go through this point when connecting to PoE).

Unfortunately, since this node is shielded as I mentioned, these 92 milliseconds are the worst of 4 packages, with the best being at just 4 milliseconds. Still, seeing how the times are relatively high all the way down from there, even after reaching the unshielded nodes from Telia, I think it’s safe to say that’s where the problem starts. I would contact your ISP about that, to see if they can have a look at that node
