High ping in Diablo 3

Hey.
I have 160 stable ping on diablo 3. At first , I tought problem is my internet connection. But after i run WinMTR , I saw as57976net loosing packages that causes high ping. I have perfect ping in everyother game. Funny party is when switch to Americas server in diablo 3 , my ping is 150. Lower than europe.
Than i downloaded a free VPN and tried a different location to pass as57976net and my ping was 60. So when i contact to live chat agents keep telling me i should cotact to my internet provider. as57976net belongs to Hurricane Electric/Blizzard Entertainment.

If you have the IP address that this corresponds to you could look it up with a WHOIS search…

I don’t but when i google as57976net its blizzard. You can also do it to check.

@Craniop

The high ping of as57976.net had been explained by support:

Our nodes are configured to de-prioritize ICMP packets (which are used by tracert, pathping, and WinMTR) so you may see large latency spikes due to this. It simply means that those nodes are delaying these connection tests packets, while your game packets (TCP and UDP) are getting through quickly and efficiently.

Knowing this, I can see that the WinMTR that you posted does not really show any real issues.

If you doubt, paste the whole log for support to analyse.

As i said when i use VPN to avoid as57976 my ping is perfect. So the problem is at as57967. I don’t know what point in that is so hard to understand.

Don’t @me, should @support.

You can forget the as57976. It has been explained why and they are not a problem. (More precisely, we don’t know if they are problem.)

I’m more concern about the last two hops:

| 137.221.66.47 - 1 | 309 | 308 | 0 | 147 | 154 | 147 |
| 185.60.112.157 - 1 | 305 | 303 | 0 | 147 | 151 | 149 |

I don’t know if they are de-prioritized as well.

@Kiemmaki @Nenyasqi can someone please help me ?

Hello Craniop,

Could you please run a fresh WinMTR while playing the game and post it here?

Kind regards

Thanks a million for the fresh data. You have a high response time in the connection to your router as you can see below. That connection should be below 1 ms but goes up to 93 ms. Do you connect via cable or WiFi? If on WiFi, plese try a cable connection. You should also look for a newer driver for your network card and Power Cycle your devices.

Kind regards

You just don’t want to understand the problem in my opinion. If a VPN solves the problem how my internet connection can be bad. Another WinMTR

On this my ms in 1 and still getting 160 ms. And last 5 hops droping packets.

Hello again,

If the use of a VPN gives you a good connection but your normal ISP connection doesn’t, then it is clearly an issue with the normal connection and routing because a VPN bypasses all of that when connecting to our servers but can cause other problems.

Kind regards
