No Cutscenes? (this is now 15 characters)

Playing Diablo 3 again to freshen up on the story before the release of D4. Wanted to watch the cutscenes but i have just two, i have several lvl70 characters and have played the story several times. Tried to repair the install, did nothing.
I have seen the posts about manually changing files to enable the cutscenes but i wont change any files without official acknowledgment.
So, how do i fix this?

I’ll just put how to do it here… and then you can decide if you want to do it.

  • You need to edit D3Prefs.txt in your Documents/Diablo III folder; you can do that with Notepad.

  • Modify the value of the five PlayedCutscene variables… PlayedCutscene0 to PlayedCutscene4 so that they are now equal to 255… so:

PlayedCutscene0 "255"
PlayedCutscene1 "255"
PlayedCutscene2 "255"
PlayedCutscene3 "255"
PlayedCutscene4 "255"
  • Save the changes, launch Diablo III and enjoy !

there’s a setting under Options → Gameplay → Interface called “Automatically skip all cutscenes”… check so you don’t have that turned on
