Random latency issues up to 1500ms

So i just recently started the new season trying to avoid the initial flood of new players and the server problems that come with them, but I just can’t play properly.

Every few seconds the latency jumps from the usual 40-50ms to 700-1500ms, sometimes rubberbanding, sometimes juts straight up freezing the screen. Most of the time, I am dead afterwards.

I play solo as a monk, I have AD on one of my items left, will try to reroll that, but the WoL builds would benefit from AD and I don’t really see why I should intentionally weaken my build just because your servers can’t handle a single player using it.

Here is the Looking Glass result:

Hi :

You don’t say much about your system… are you on Windows 8.1 ?
If so, check your recent Windows updates and see if KB 4566425 installed recently.

If it did… that may be the culprit… but I am not sure. Aside from you, only 2 other players have reported that issue (on the French Europe forums)… no Blizzard input yet. So I’m not sure if that update is really the culprit.

The full title of that KB is “Servicing stack update for Windows 8.1, RT 8.1, and Server 2012 R2: July 14, 2020”; there is some info on the Microsoft site here:

Hello stickay,

Looking into the MTR it seems that you have significant packet loss in one of the nodes there.

I would suggest that you try the steps in here!
