I was playing like 6 hours ago and suddenly game crashed. When i tried to log back in i got stuck at retrieving hero list. Tried everything suggested with deleting files, etc, even made a complete reinstall. Now that im trying to play again the problem is still there. I cant log in

Take a look at this support article…
Then post the results of your WinMTR test in the thread so we can see the route your network traffic’s taking.

Hello : Please generate your WinMTR report for each of the two IPs for Europe and then post the results here.
You may get a message from the forums that you cannot post links; that is normal. The workaround is to put 3 or 4 tildes before AND after each of the WinMTR reports… as in:

I made my friend log on my account as well he still has the same problem stuck at retrieving hero list can it still be a connection issue?
Is it not account related problem? because I can log in and play with different accounts but my account is stuck still for hours and I dont know what to do

ok - just saw your other post… if you can login with one account, but not the other… then it does look like it is account related.
Which probably means that assistance from Blizzard will be needed.

We’ve noticed an issue affecting logging in with certain accounts. We went ahead and sent it up to the Diablo 3 team so they can look into it.

I have the same problem on EU, cant retrieve here list 
Same problem here playing on Eu servers. Getting stuck on retrieving hero list on Eu and Us servers but works on Asia. have reinstalled the game and tried a different connection with out luck.
I have been waiting for hours trying to get in the game but can’t, did most of the common fixes nothing worked on EU server. Whenever I log in the moment retrieving hero list comes diablo 3 retail stops working window pops up. I even made some of my friends log in with my account and they still get the same problem please help… the issue seems to affect only my account because when I use a different account I can log in just fine.
20 hours later now I can log in I received a response from blizzard that they received my ticket I don’t know if they fixed it or it just fixed itself because they told me they saw my ticket about the issue and a game master will contact me soon… hopefully it doesnt happen again and the people who still has the problem wil be able play soon.
