Vsync wont go above 60fps (on a 100Hz monitor)

Updated the game on thursday. Also updated to latest nvidia driver. I can’t recall this issue existed before the patch/update of nvidia driver.
I might do a complete driver unisntall for my gpu because this issue is rather weird.
Anyone else having this issue? If I turn off vsync of course fps can go above 60, but with vsync it just caps out at 60.

Thats what the Vsync is about. Capping your fps to 60. Or at least to the refresh rate of your Monitor.

Did I forgot to mention my monitor is 100hz gsync monitor? sorry.
I’m into two additional nvidia driver installation. No changes. Is this game or driver issue?

UPDATE:
I think I’ve found the issue by mistake.
My monitor went to sleep and in the background another game was running in full screen mode. After the screen came back the application were in windowed mode (I consider this normal behavior, after monitor sleep most apps/games from full screen turn to windowed mode).
Then I noticed that the game’s maxfps was 60!
Seems that the games in windowed mode only have 60hz capped?!

Hello H0PE!

The refresh rate used by most applications and games while set in Windowed Mode is the one setup for the Operating System, that usually overrides any specific application setting.

So if your OS is setup with a 60hz refresh rate (which is the case in most situations, even with monitors that can go above that value), games in Windowed Mode will be refreshed at that specific rate, and will need to be put back in Full Screen to avail of a different setting.

Hi,

I’ve found the issue. Somehow for some reason one of the drive update changed the desktop’s refresh rate. Though the full screen games were okay on 100Hz, windowed full screen games used the nvidia control panel\display\Change Resolution settings. Which was 60Hz.
Thank god now I can enjoy the nice 100Hz in D3. :slight_smile:
Good lesson for me, don’t trust drivers that much. Worth checking even the basic settings sometimes.
