Ancient gem dropped
After I logged off and on again, greater rift keystone was not consumed.
No countdown timer appeared - so did within time limits.
Incidentally, because I breezed thru this the go before, I logged out and upped level - doing the precursor and main rift quests.
I have a theory that a full inventory is causing this behaviour - because I had one go fine, but two either side had same issue.
