Consistent lag in Diablo 4

I got the standard edition after launch, so some lag is to be expected I suppose, but the rate of my lag seems too consistent and even throughout to be caused by high traffic alone. It is constantly between 350-500 msec, with a framerate of 4-5. I have a PC whose specs are more than sufficient for this game, a high-speed fiber connection, updated drivers, and no similar problems with any other applications.

If this doesn’t get resolved soon, I think a refund is in place. The game is completely unplayable as is.

Me too, constant delay. Unplayable :frowning: But is only today, after patch.

For me the game runs around 200fps and with 50-80 ms and seems to work fine… but about every 30 sec the ping goes to over 180 ms and for some reason the whole game just throws up… character stays still for like a second and jumps to a random location. cant attack until a second late and having a absoute nightmare. enemies for some reason seems to still be able to move properly and looks fine overall but it makes bosses just unbeatable with squishy charaters like rogue.
This issues been getting worse every day as well.

A little lag here and there is to be expected with a new, connection dependent game like this, but with me, it is c o n s t a n t . I haven’t had a single non-lagging moment.
It even lags on the title screen and the character selection and/or the character creation screen. You may think it’s my PC, but it’s brand new, updated, with good specs and works perfectly with every other game I’ve tried.

Consistent high latency can be down to a number of factors, including software interference, unstable WiFi, packet loss, unusual connection routing, etc.

To get a better idea of where the issue is, a WinMTR test can help shine a light on what’s happening. What that test does, is ping each step of the journey from your PC to our servers, once per second, and records the results for the duration that you run the test.

That test shows that you’re losing 56% of the test’s data just from your PC to your router, which would go a long way to explaining why you’re experiencing connection trouble.

If you’re using WiFi, I’d advise using a cable if at all possible, and see how that impacts your game’s performance.

I am using an ethernet cable.

I am using an ethernet cable and getting very highping

if Every player is experiencing this lag, rubberbanding, and everything in between, even with fibre connections on ethernet. It is a delivery optimisation issue.

I’ll be the first to admit that I am not a very tech savvy person. A friend of mine had a look, and it turns out the Graphics Adapter setting was set to default. Changing it to my graphics card fixed everything XD
Thanks for the attempt at helping! There, I ate my humble pie

how can you change that

Go to options, look at the second option from the top called Adapter. If there’s a drop-down menu there, switch from your current option there. It’s still fairly annoying though, because I have to change this every time I log in apparently.

This is BS. before latest patch i played 100% without lag issues or ruberbanding. Now i cant even stay log in more than 10 min. peaks for 1500 ms, ruberbanding everywhere etc etc.
Fix this Shi…t. its not a free to play game, its a very expensive one. 2 beta test, without this issue, 1st week without this issue, and now what? it´s our fault?

maybe when we start to refound you will be interest in put some pple to fix this F. lag problem

ya its already set to my Nvidia gpu

I have the same problem. Everything was working fine before the patch. Stable 50 - 80ms. Now it is 350-1200ms. I have updated all drivers and windows. Other online games and applications, including World of Warcraft, do not experience this issue.

Same issue here. These solutions don’t work for me. It played fine up until a day ago, now lag and rubber banding is so bad it’s unplayable.
