Same, it all this started in May 2024 for me, getting worst and worst since then, despite trying everything suggested.
Mine has gotten worse after season 3 - I would get maybe 1 a week, S3, S4 it was 1-2 crashes every 3-4hrs, now S5, its every day or every 30 min. Not heat or over clocking, or drivers, or anything with my PC because runs everything flawless and no other games crash old or new. Only Diablo 4.
I just cancelled my DLC for October and really disappointed and not going to play anymore until addresses or fixed. This has happened to 1000 of people with different systems and hardware which only concludes its the game.
anyone been able to fix constant crashing?? i have had issues virtually since release, but now it is crashing when i do something as simple as open inventory… very frustrating

Well, not to be the broken record here but I have the same issue. Also with the same set up as most of you,
AMD Ryzen 9 5900x 12core with 64GB Ram an AMD Radeon RX 6800XT GPU
This should work but the game still needs a patch because it looks like the leaky VRAM is flowing out like the Devils throat of Iguazu Falls.

Same issue. good ol GTX 1080 ti. Nothing special. Crashes few seconds after loading into town. facepalm
Scratch that… upgraded my Nvidia drivers yesterday. I’m on now for 3 minutes and counting… so far so good.
Aaaaand there it goes. The application encountered an unexpected error. sigh…
Update: fixed it with DisableChromaEffects “1” in Localprefs.txt under \Documents\Diablo IV
That is the one and only change I did. No crash for about 20+ minutes now.
Well I’ll be damned. another crash about 22 minutes in. Any word from Blizzard? a little transparency and interaction would be much appreciated here folks.
Same here.
Game is crushing after several minutes. Three times in a row when I was fighting Infernal Hordes. So frustrating when after 6 waves it kicks you out. If it will not change it will be uninstalled. It probably won’t cause you are waiting till VoH arrives with “wait and watch what will happen” attidude. Currently there is not a single thought of bying this.
After some pre-release updates for S6 installed D4 crashed multiple times, uninstall and reinstall of the game seems to have solved the issue for me.
Followed every post I could find, made all the changes - NOTHING. Carshes within 5 min MAX - crashes at all loading screens, character screen, character generation screen…once in a while I’ll get 2 - 3 min of game play.

I have been running since the 1st public Beta - NEVER had a problem until 22 Sept when I tried to play, I might have missed a day or two before that - I play Immortal a lot. Now the game is a useless waste of space on my HDD, I’m pissed I paid for the expansion and can’t play it.
It’s getting worse for more people - Blizzard doesn’t care - they got their cash. Well, no more from me.

Game obviously has some kind of memory leak. Can’t play for 2 hours without a crash. The crashes happen even when idling in town. They are obviously not related to some specific user-action.
I have the same problem here…
Only D4 crasing. After 8 or 10 min the game just close.

I had the same issues playing in seasonal only, getting worst since a season 4 may patch, before the expansion, so I did not buy it.
Yet I installed the new realease and am playing in eternal since and surprinsingly the game is much more stable, just a few short freezes, no crashing no disconnecting. I did not meet many players in eternal, though.
Have you tried eternal ?
NVIDIA users with this problem should REALLY try updating their bios to the latest version .
my motherboard bios is already updated to the last release bios incl drivers and it still crashing
Why is this the only game where we need to do everything in our PC as if the issue was always on user’s side?
I redownloaded the game yesterday after playing last month. while installing, my router gets disconnected while still being able to download, then disconnects minutes later. its so frustrating, ive done the 999999999 bandwith(worked for others), no dice. ive even changed my adapter setting to no avail. T_T
Full system crashes are back again. 
one question, do you all have ram with oc?
after the last Patch same by me it crashes random lost some good things to

lost numerous seething realm completes and a fair few dungeon runs due to random crashing… never the same in game circumstances 6 times in 1 day is damned annoying
Same thing happening to me. Game has crashed multiple times, different scenarios, most infuriating in hell tides and with the seething bonuses, as well as Dark Citadel.
Right now trying uninstall and reinstall to see if that fixes the issue. Most updated BIOS, most updated NVIDIA driver, Windows 11 up to date and generally most drivers also up to date.

32 DDR5 RAM @2793 Mhz with XMP Profile 1 Enabled - OC’d
Haven’t had issues with any other games crashing, started happening with VoH expansion.
