Keeping this alive. Game is still broken.
Alright, so, since the “maintenance” that was on august 1 the game constantly crashes dropping a fenris error window. Never, in a year of playing this got these issues, especially so frequently and randomly, and none of the suggested solutions worked that were mentioned on the forums.
So… what’s up with that?

Crashes, “connection lost”, “reconnecting to the game”, … for 3 months now, tried everything posted by players to address the issue (thanks), nothing works and nothing from Blizzard - for sure not spending anymore money on this game, that I like so it’s a pity.
For AMD users : Make sure you are on the latest AGESA bios update. I had a crashing PC as well 6 months ago , since I updated the bios (with the same exact bios settings as before) my pc has been rock stable. Diablo 4 has not crashed once.
Anybody having the problem that Diablo 4 freezes then freezes the whole computer then either BSOD’s or it quits the game then your SSD disappears?
I had this happen on 1 SSD with the OS on it so always got BSODs. Decided to put another SSD in it, transferred all my games over, and the same issue happened again with D4 on the new SSD, but this time no BSOD as it wasn’t on my SSD with the OS.
So when i check Disk Management or File Explorer my 2nd SSD has disappeared! I have to HARD RESET my PC to get my SSD to reinitialise!
No other game does this, only D4 and it happens randomly through the game, there is no way to replicate the issue. I do believe that either D4 has a memory leak and is using the Page File as a plaster and abusing the SSD a lot and causes the SSD to stop working (I don’t think so, otherwise i would be seeing a temperature increase) Or, which i think is the most likely is that Diablo 4 is trying to do something on the SSD and has failed or is fetching data incorrectly causing a cascading issue due to their coding doing something that it shouldn’t within the file system on the SSD
The only thing worked for me was BIOS update…since that, i have no issue
Facing this issue too with 3060 ti. I noticed the frequency of crashes varies from one graphics driver to another, with more frequent crashing on the newest drivers.
When I downloaded an older driver version from 2023 it took a long time on the loading screen so I quit the game and installed a less-recent 2024 driver which was far more stable, but crashes still happen every 1 hour or so.
This less-recent 2024 driver still gave loading time issues, but after I dropped the graphics down drastically it loaded instantly.
I’m going to try and go for a 2023 version with the dropped down graphics maybe it proves to be more stable.
Did not change anything for me. Neither reinstall, or any other advises posted on this forum. Crashing, freezing, “reconnecting”
There is still Fenris crash after 1 years, they even got the same crash on their livestream ! What are the cause of this? Did blizzard even respond to this or ?
Keeping this alive…Blizzard, please help. Fenris error every 15 mins…i want to play your game, i really do!

I bought a new PC with RTX 4070 TI super, 32GB RAM, AMD Ryzen 9 7900 CPU and ROG B650e-F motherboard. Game keeps crashing constantly. Worked better with my 9 years old pc… Please Fix this Blizzard. Have tried almost everything I can imagine. Turned all graphics setting on/off in sequence, reinstalled game, have latest drivers etc… nothing works. Sometimes game works for 1hour straight but usually crashes in 15mins…
not outright crashes in particular but massive hitches and freezes. I am talking, the game freezes for multiple seconds at a time, constantly. I am also experiencing much higher latency the normal
Hey Blizzgods, I’ve been an avid fan of your games. But I’ve been getting this same crash for the past two months. I have done the reinstall, I have reinstalled my OS, I have turned off everything but the OS background and Diablo IV, I have taken off any overlays and the game keeps crashing. Please fix this, I like the cosmetics this season, and I do try and get the cosmetics from the season journey every season.
I know this is an old post but I had this problem UNTIL I stopped using AMD Ryzen Overclocking, once I reverted back to normal on this software the issue went away. Nothing else helped until I went back to normal settings in the Overlocking software / reset.

I have stopped counting the number of times I launched a NMD or IH and then game crashed, loosing the NMD or IH …
I am also having numerous crashes. The following is a summary list of the exception codes and exception addresses. I am running a month-old computer with the latest BIOS and Microcode 0x129. I am running on an Intel i9-14900KF, 96GB RAM, and an RTX-4090 GPU. The system is water-cooled and NOT OC’d. This latest patch is frustrating to play.

That´s not the problem mate, I have my system UNDERclocked and the game keeps crashing when I teleport to Zarbinzet or Tree of Wispers or when I try to get out of helltides to go sell.
Another person said it was because other programs overlaying, tried closing every other program, even the firewall or antivirus. Nothing. It´s not our systems. It´s the latest patch, they wrote it like Tumblr code.
I’ve been having long load/disconnect/crash issues ever since the first or 2nd patch of season 4, I can’t remember which… I’ve tried a lot of the suggestions in this thread to no avail… this is post # 300 on this topic and two things are obvious… 1. A lot of people have this problem. 2. Blizzard doesn’t give a damn or and/or just can’t figure it out. I paid for the expansion pack, so I’ll keep trying to play through season 6… but if it continues like it has throughout seasons 4 and 5, I"m done with this game. Sick and tired of wasting 15-30 minutes at a time trying to login only to get a god damn disconnect window, or worse “reconnecting to diablo IV” which might as well just say “CRASH IMMINENT, QUIT NOW.”
