Same. My PC has 32gb RAM and I’ve seen d4 using ~21gb of RAM and the game crashes with the “out of memory” error.
Same. It’s too early for the game to come out. Polish for another half a year at least.
I5 3470
8+8+4 gb ddr3 ram
Rtx2060 super 8 gb
My ram burned down after two crashes with reboot, wtf, pc not working, only with other memory, which i save from older pc
Hi , i have set the pagefile to 4GB , no more probs with out of memory.
So a week is not long enough to fix a memory leak?
What’s the game refund process?
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor 3.80 GHz
32 g Ram
Nvidia GTX 3070
Crashed at character creation with “System has run out of memory”
Upon trying to restart Diablo 4 I recieved a new Error " This game requires a GPU to Run "
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.59 GHz
16GB Ram
Radeon RX 6600XT
Even on medium everything crushes.
It’s pretty stable until a cutscene when memory spikes and it’s not cleared anymore after it stays in max.
Hi. This thread helped me immediately.
I can confirm the solution to surveil VRAM usage and switch texture detail forth and back from time to time (when vram usage exceeds like ~97% is a good idea). Needed it once when on medium within 1 hour. Now got kicked with error 316719.
But - Hey Blizzard! - Regarding my system specs this is an nogo for the game priced at minimum 70 EUR. I’d like to play the game at full extent and ask for a confirmation of future fixture. Thank you.
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor, 32GB RAM

Same here, my PC just crash/freeze (because I did turn off pagefile, so it is on me too)
Diablo 4 did fill up my RAM to 24GB, and then I needed to restart PC
AMD Ryzen 5700G
32GB DDR4
4GB to Vega8
28GB to OS/other
only Downloaded the 44GB version of D4 , and almost everything is on LOW (except shaders high + textures medium)
Otherwise the game was running very good(for my iGPU), only lag/freeze was while loading new zones
did play from 21:15 - 01:53 so it took like 4-5hours to fill 24GB of RAM, but it should free some of the RAM from old zone I don’t visit anymore
I can confirm setting the pagefile to a rather high value (64gb, just because there was enough free hard disk space) solved the issue. A lower value is probably also fine.
AMD Ryzen 7 5800x
32GB DDR4 RAM
10GB Pagefile
RTX 3070 TI
I can watch the Memory fill and after max 5 minutes either the game crashes with out of memory or my whole PC dies.
How do you do that ?..
A possible fix / workaround that worked for me: (I have Ryzen 5 2600, GTX 1060 6GB, 16 GB RAM)
End all unnecessary processes from Task Manager.
Diablo IV will use about 11 GB of RAM when it’s launched this way.
Once you’re in the game, go to the options menu and set it to run in "Windowed (fullscreen). By default, it was just on “Windowed”.
The game should now use about 6-7 GB of RAM and you can restart your background processes.
Same here
My system:
Ryzen 7 3800x
32 GB RAM
RTX 3060 - 12 GB VRAM
There was a problem.
I turned on the paging file, closed the rest of the programs I don’t use. The problem is gone. Together with the operating system (Win11) at maximum settings, the game consumes 20-25 gigabytes of RAM
After some playing the used “Committed” memory was 37 GB!
“Used” by the game was 12 GB, but used “Committed” is 37 (total).
So, the game requires A LOT of memory, either physical RAM/VRAM, or at least as the swap file (page file) as a cache on SSD.
1060 6 GB, 24 RAM, unlimited swapfile, the game is on SATA SSD, 1080p. Maximal settings. (All programs are closed, only Windows 10 takes 3 GB.)
I have fine FPS (~70, fantastic), but the games have the very notable count of lags. It seems the game loads some data at these moments. Into the swap file on SSD.
After moving the game on NVMe SSD and with using medium preset of textures the lag count was notable decreased, as well as the memory use.
Hey blizzard
Maybe its time to start hiring people who can read feedback from users on forum???
6 crashed in 60 min due to run out of memory.
The same problem: run out of RAM
