I can’t be sure since I never paid much attention to my cpu usage but since the last patch on july 10th my CPU fan is really loud while playing especially when I’m in helltides. My CPU usage is at 50% nearly all the time which is high I think.
Before the patch my computer was relatively silent while playing except when I teleported then it got loud.
I’m using an intel i5 12400 and my PC is only 1 year old.
My CPU usage in Kyovashad is at 20-25% without RT and 40-50% with RT on.
This is on a 5800X3D.
So unless you are using RT (which you should not), then something is off.
How did you check the CPU usage?
Is it total or for D4 only?
its total and I checked it on task manager. I normally have google chrome open when playing.
edit: i’m not using RT
So if it is total usage, then how much does D4 alone take up?
Should be around 30% for your CPU i would guess.
Which other apps cause CPU-load?
Chrome goes up to 5% for me when watching a twitch stream (with GPU acceleration on).
ok so I’m standing around in kyovashad and my CPU is running at ~40% usage and d4 is taking up also ~40% usage.
I’d say that is still in the normal range, even though i would have expected it a bit lower.
Still, 40% is nothing to worry about. There’s games that have a much higher load than this.
