The season is nice and I’m enjoying it, but… the Pit is very bad designed.
This one-shot mechanics is a lazy way of making the Pit difficult. Sometimes it is impossible and it is just a question of luck. I’ve just been in a fight where the ground was completely covered with poison and other stuff that literally it was impossible to walk.
The Pit is supposed to be difficult but it loses the purpose if we can’t do anything about one-shots. No matter how much HP (35K), resistances (maxed) or armor (maxed) we get, we die in one shot. It’s just a question of luck and to get a “good” boss and shadow bosses. Sometimes I have to skip the run and get out just because I’ll lose lots of money repairing the armor, and money is a problem.
Maybe a solution for that problem is to make shadow bosses deal half the damage and to reduce shadow bosses to 1. Keep the difficulty for +100 tiers so those who think it is too easy have something challenging, but for those who are not the best players and don’t have much time can at least complete masterworking with effort and time.
Please, do something urgent about the Pit. It is not fun this way.
Thank you.

I agree that the pit bosses are like playing Russian roulette, either You get lucky or You get one-shotted.
I do not mind that bosses get more difficult and are using other and harder to beat “tactics” whilst moving on to higher levels, but with the game as it presently is it is only a question of hoping not to get one-shotted by anything else but the boss, including some stuff You often do not see coming at all…
Moreover, since the latest patch when dying in the pit Your elixir remains “alive” but the essence(s) disappear making it hard to keep up with collecting enough materials to produce new ones.
Spending like 15 essences on one “end fight”, provided You have sufficient time left to complete the boss in time, is just overkill.

I don’t think those bosses function properly. Saw too many times when I was absolutely standing in safe area without any hint of danger graphically and just insta died. All those mobs in the pit were totally harmless. Pit is like you have only 1/1 HP no matter your gear and build. Sometimes 2/2 HP.

Yeah naah, perhaps next season. Most likely not even that.

Lots of post about one-shot mechanics in a PIT
I have one question: have u been one-shoted on level 1 or 2? on level 20?
I dont think its about one-shot mechanic it is about cap for your current gear
Some guys are onshoted, some with better gear - not
Lvl 61 is not that hard at all to get last type of resources
(u can complete it w/o gear with greater affixes and with just a bit of tempering)

I agree with you that Lvl 61 is not that hard, but enemy hits start to kill you instantly and you rely on having some luck and get “good” bosses there.
I don’t want an easy game that lets you get everything without any effort. I like challenge and grinding. The problem is that to complete masterworking doing Lvl 61 runs (some of them should be skipped due to bad bosses) will take ages.
What I am saying is that Lvls from 1 to 80 maybe should be easier and beyond that the same difficulty as it is right now. That way we all are happy. In fact, there should be no cap in the number of levels of the pit. I’m sure some people would get to Lvl 300 in a month.

I didn’t read whole topic. I didn’t push Pit so far. I know there are one shot mechanics in the game (it was already there when AoZ was released) and that Blizzard should take a closer look to it.
But ffs i don’t understand how could you possibly say that you have 35k HP so you are prepared for one-shots. I have 32k HP on my Necro which i didn’t play for days and i use it just for fun farm. I did only a few Pits and that’s it. I didn’t even find a perfect gear nor did masterworking more than 4 lvl.
So you say, that 35k hp should be enough to push the Pit? Here is short with from Rob - he did half milion hp Barb xD
One shotting started after 25 pits on my sorc. Ive soloed pit number 61 but did not have any interest trying to go higher due to the stupid boss mechanics. All I have to do is stare at my feet and dodge everything 100% perfectly or I die because I dont play the p-ssy perma flameshield, which unfortunately is the only way to progress endgame stuff.
I mean isnt it enough that sorcerers are forced to use 3 defensive skills at least in order to survive but to force even deeper into the hell hole and forcing us to use perman flame shield uptime too? fudge that.
My thorns barb can facetank rank 60 with no problem, sure its atm still a little slower and depends a lot on what boss appears but overall much more enjoyable.
On top of that, as a sorc I never got uniques or anything good, why is it that changing to barb and now all I get is good stuff? I believe there is something funky going on with drop rates on different classes aswell.
No enemies or bosses doesnt kill u in 1 hit in pit 61 if thats the case then its your character’s gear or build isnt optimised, and i have a barb, druid, necro doing pits 100+ and even those mobs or bosses doesnt one hit kill me.
What I meant is that having 35K HP and max armor and resistances is not enough.
Sorry if I said it wrong.

only Advice i can give u because yes i have been there where u at i couldnt do Pits higher then 40 because mobs one shotted me every time so i didnt wanted to be rude with me other post, if that was the case i am sorry for that it wasnt meant to be rude. but look at youtube Raxxantrax is a very good streamer and he has a video that explains how to build your character its a very good Video tbh. i can recommend his video’s for every new player tbh.
Go and try sorcerer, I want to see you go into tier 30s and not get 1 hit by the bosses shadow mechanics. The shadow mechanics are ridiculous.
You can easily get 1 hit KOd by the boss hits and its shadow mechanics unless you play unkillable/close to unkillable builds. Unfortunately that is just damn boring way to play the game. The fact that youre saying this and then continue saying “I have a barb, druid, necro…” Yeah that is where you lost my respect of any kind. Three easiest classes to hit 100 pits without getting insta killed. Do that same with sorc without the perma flameshield and then we can talk again.
P.S
I have absolutely no interest in playing the game following guides. I wish to play as I want, not by following someone elses build step by step. As long as hitting endgame content without build guides etc. is not possible, its poorly constructed game. Very simple.

ok i will do sorcerer for sure then post a video in this post wanna bet i can do pit 30 without being instakilled?
What a bad ass, let me see you run pit 61+ without getting 1 hit KOd by the boss and its mechanics and not using permanent flame shield. It is possible, ofc, I’ve done it. Im just saying its hell of a lot harder to do than compared to the three classes you listed. The developers imo need to stop licking druid, necro and barbarian a–holes and start working on balance of the world. Everything is so unbalanced and broken.

Also ps: i play a Druid companion build Wich compares to Necro is bad in every way possible. if u dont want to have advice fine by me. dont get salty on me because you cannot do the pit without dieng.
Sorcerer is really bad this season.
Just an example. One of my last fights was like this: The arena was covered with poison circles. I could manage to walk around them while hitting the main boss and avoiding his attacks and his minions, but suddenly a tornado was coming and Lilith appeared to place those spike waves on the ground. My fire shild was on cooldown and I thought: “too much, this is insane, one boss, 5 minions, venom all around the arena, two tornados and now Lilith. This is not fun”.
What else can I do to get stronger if all my aspects are maxed, glyths are maxed, my gear is all 925, my resistances and armor are capped… and I’m playing one of the strongest builds for sorc.
After all that work getting to this point all I can do is pray to have some luck with shadow bosses on a long fight (sorc can’t kill a boss in one shot in this season, it gets some time) and stay alive. It is not about effort and grinding, it’s a question of luck.

Imo the only thing with sorcerer to do if you dont want to play p-ssy-mode with flameshield 100% uptime is to go for pure dmg. Dont even think about toughness in any way, if you can get rid of some toughness to get more dmg, just do it. My sorc destroys everything at its path, boss takes a while to kill but if I had gone for defenses more; I would of have just lost dmg and gain nothing of it since no matter how tough the sorc is; itll get 1 hit Ko’d in pits and tormented lvl 200 duriels etc.

I thought about that. I think I’ll try that. Thank you.

Im not saying its the perfect solution but so far it worked for me. I still die in the pit boss just as easily as I would die if I was tankier. As long as the trash doesnt kill me (how could they, the trash dies in an instant)
The unfortunate fact is that sorc cannot be tanky in any way (unless going for p-ssy mode with flame shield 100% uptime) and it cannot deal as much dmg as necro, druid or barb either. Which is a bit unfair considering that its a glass cannon without proper dmg.
Imo necro, druid and barb should nerf 50% of their power out put because they are so much tankier and have much more abilities to stay alive.
