WE are in same situation as we were in Diablo 2-3… ^^

Despite Blizzards “Well meaning”
Play it your way …
We cant, we are all forced into builds to be able to do end game.
only a few builds are able todo end-content with ease and they are not home made builds!
The fact the paragon board is full of traps for normal people that dont sit and worry about meta or calculate endless damage parameters leaves us, “Home builders” “seriously fubar”
In terms of reaching endgame.
The pit is really showing us this.!
My homemade build, can run nm dungeons +100… np.
Same build cannot pass pit 61 due to the fact of the mechanic’s.
I have resigned too use a “copy paste” build as I did in d2, d3 just so I can also gief the ubers a go.
Reflecting on season 3, this was the same problem.
I ignored s1 and s2 as they were just crap.
And this “game changing unique”
most top end builds use normal leggo power and maybe 1 or 2 shiny!
I tried equipping all slot in yummy shiny “game changing” gear.
That was a joke, couldn’t even pass nm 40 dungeons

So game still requiring lots of tempering!
Shame blizzard has used 4 temper attempts and only have 1 left

Maybe they should increase temper limits for them selves and us at the same time?
I’ve run the pit several times, get through the dungeon fine then get to the pit and get slaughtered 9 times out of 10 (or more) when the boss is down to about 30%, can’t get past level 31, not fun

a sorc is a hard hitting and in some way’s a glass cannon, i play druid and necro and rarely getting one shotted but those classes druid in front can take a beating.
I started doing the pit and progressed at time quite difficult and yes a few one-shots, but I seem to have hit a brick wall, just can’t get past lvl 44, it really does look like a lot of pot luck on what type of mobs (spiders are worst) and also the final boss who most times one-shots me and I’m thinking what hit me ???, fair enough if you don’t play the mechanics, but when you just can’t see what hit you.
Also I think poison on the floor needs a bit more “highlighting”, so many times it’s so hard to see and it takes a ton of life almost instantly.
Really spoiling the fun, I’ve reached a stalemate, thought I progressing nicely, working my way up, but even though I’ve done lots of lower pits to upgrade armour/stats, it doesn’t seem to make any difference now, probably upgraded items 12 to 15 times since I got to pit 44, but still can’t do 44 itself.
Seriously thinking of leaving the game which is a shame as I used to enjoy this game so much, no way I’m buying the new expansion if this is the way the game pans out.
To everyone saying making a infinite flame shield is “easy”
Have you heard of this game mechanic called tempering???
Took me a full month to get gear to even start thinking about trying to make the build. Took me another month to get the right tempers on. Took me ANOTHER month to make a semi working, conditional, skill dependent kinda immortal flame shield build because if my ice blades don’t hit enough it’s bye bye sorc.
I’ve spent hours and hours and hours and hours grinding, getting materials, resetting gear pieces and not being able to get a triple MW CDR in a SINGLE piece of gear!!!
Is it possible? Absolutely
Easy?! HELL NO!
Try first, talk later!
I have over 900 hours in this game and I’m primarily a sorc player. I make them every season, absolutely adore the class. I don’t shy away from trying stuff out and I did play a Rogue, Druid and Barb. Each are fun in their own way and I have a Whirlwind Barb now for farming pit 95, it’s a 2 min run. The Sorcs have been ruined beyond repair I’m afraid. They have no idea what they are doing with this class whatsoever.
Thank you for your comments, like you I like playing a Sorcerer and have re-speced many times to try Ice/Lightning/combo’s and find Fire the best overall, but still struggle to get past a level 44 pit, nearly did it yesterday, got through the mobs with about 8 minutes left, but boss one-shotted me twice withing a few seconds, I think the main problem is trying to dodge all the time and of course you stand still to cast, even Hydra causes a little pause and sometimes that’s enough for the boss to kill you
I’m happy to say that I managed to do a Pit 100 with a Blizzard sorc before the nerf to pit bosses. Felt like a big achievement honestly. The issue is farming mats with each run lasting for 7+ minutes and a high possibility of the run failing is awful! That’s why I ended up making a Barb to save me the headache
