It’s not going to replace D2R, especially without trading. It’s got D3 vibes all over it, and looks like it too tbh. This is more like D3 with better graphics and new story.
Is D3 even more played than D2R? I am asking because I really don’t know. Just wondering why Blizzard has taken the same route that’s kinda less liked.
Guys in my understanding nobody wanted D4 to be like D2 including myself.
What I said and I think others wanted to be said also is D4 is lack of new interesting ideas in this state. We all need progression and not regression.
If you say D4 can’t be D2, than why D4 is really close or almost the same as D3?
I also want new things but not that lazy approach what I experienced during the BETA. Probably it feels nice and smooth for a beginner or for somebody who didn’t played this genre from the beginning, but not for me. This is just not D4, you can call whatever you want but it isn’t D4.
I also want to express my PRO’s here because this game has a huge potential.
The graphics and the atmosphere with the story line is amazing. Same feelings with the voice acting. Not just good, it is perfect!
Thats all!
OK… 42yr old dad gamer here. just my 2p worth.
personally i don’t mind the dungeons, i don’t care on the layout, i feel the combat is enough to make it to where i just enjoy smashing faces to pieces, i’m sure at some point it may get boring running the same dungeon etc.etc., but that isn’t now.
I don’t find the layouts boring, its fine for me to go through a dungeon kill stuff and get items to progress, i mean how many rifts in D3 were samey and they are just kill mobs to spawn boss. that games lasted years.
Itemization, again i don’t have an issue, i agree that there are a few bloated stats, but it kind of helps out as your not really looking for crit hit and damage etc. (the trifecta).
lets also not forget that this is only part way through (i beleive they said it was about 20% of the game). hopefully things change in new zones. we will see.
i am really looking forward to this launch, not had this much fun in a game for a long time.
just my thoughts as i see the dungeon thing everywhere.
How can you even rate itemization when you haven’t seen uniques, sacred’s or ancestral’s yet? On world tier 1-2 you can only drop legendaries - which in d4 are equivalent to rare with 4 affix + installed power.
I think the itemisation is maybe a bit convoluted, but it has an incredible amount of depth hidden within it. The ability to boost various aspects of your damage gives you a lot of freedom to experiment with different builds too.
He’s right in saying it’s not similar to previous games, but then all Diablo games have been different to each other on itemisation. Diablo 3 largely took influence from World of Warcraft, while Diablo 2 was full of misleading and confusing/sometimes invisible values.
D4 as it currently is seems to offer potential for more variation and depth than any previous Diablo title, but it’s probably not that well balanced/distributed.
Yep the D2 lobby was always a good idea, it was missed in D3 and it will be missed in D4. D4 is a sort of half MMO tho, so it wouldn’t have that lobby game aspect to begin with.
It’s a shame the UI for social activities in D4 is actually worse than both D2 and D3, they have really dropped the ball on that front, perhaps on all aspects of UI to be honest. But if we’re talking about the gameplay, I think they have something with an incredible amount of potential, the itemisation is a bit weird but when you start to understand it the depth is there to allow you to create some wild builds.
I know they say this… but the lack of lobbies, the lack of public games you can name yourself so you can group with strangers to do a common quest or something,… It doesnt make me feel it’s an MMO at all.
Yeah, you see some players sometimes, but you dont really interact. You dont do stuff together or even chat.
Diablo 4 will sell like hot cake, but as a game it’s crap. It brings nothing new more then higher price, mtx and season passes. It looks great until you open the Inventory, then it feels like Diablo Immortal. Many issues so a easy refund, but if they would add singleplayer offline mode i would get it right away (never gonna happen) just to play through the story once.
Don’t mind at this age, but Diablo as a franchise died after Diablo Immortal and Diablo 4 for me.
I never bought anything i just used traderie to change it to gear that was necessary for my builds. Probably you are just a ted and thats why you never reached the endgame.
Have you ever reached endgame in d3 btw?
Blizzard wanted feedback from players in general. You say if you don’t like you can go? Core players have really big concerns about it and you say just s…u… and leave? You are joking right? Why is the BETA was released in your opinion than? What a simple minded you are?
The paragon system in the game is the worst they could come up with. It is too confusing, but at the same time it does not give anything but confusion. People can’t even understand what kind of horror it is. They came to play Diablo and not the Korean MMO or excel simulator like EVE online is.
In my clan, most of the people want to collect builds, and not sit for hours on the forums looking for a build with paragon. It would never even occur to anyone to assemble it himself by calculating everything on a calculator. It takes longer than leveling up to level 100.
It would be better if they returned the good old portals, and left the dungeons in the open world for beauty, they are terrible, this is the worst content in Diablo 4. For one dungeon, I get so tired that I go to drink tea. In Diablo 3, the guys and I sat for 10-18 hours. This is not an exaggeration. Today my friend told me in confidence that he doesn’t want to play anymore, he’s tired of bad dungeons.
To keep people, you need at least a leaderboard. Also, you need at least one good activity in which you can spend a lot of time and it will be interesting.
The game has well done Whispering Tree quests and amazing music. World bosses are also very good, they were made by real masters. The game has a lot of good things, a lot, but there is no main thing - it makes no sense to play.
Also, the build cannot be saved in the game. If I want to try a different build, I need to spend the whole day scoring. This is longer than I was collecting things for the build.
