Diablo 4 keeps crashing

I am running out of options. So here is my post.

Windows 11 PC, NVDIA GTX 4080; I7-13700K; DDR5 6800MHZ 64GB; Motherboard Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE AX. MSI Steelseries Utrawide MSI MPG341CQR. 3440x1440 Windowed fullscreen. Game installed on Samsung SSD 990 pro 2TB

Alle temperatues stay within normal working limits
CPU 45 C
GPU 41 C
SSD’s 49 C
Motherbord 48 C

Crashes only take place in game. Not in character selection menu.

Replaced DDR5 RAM for other brand. Thought that was the issue.
No luck. Still crashes

Today 11-11-2023
Fresh install of Windows 11
Fresh install of Nvidia drivers (Geforce RTX 4080)
Fresh install of Diablo IV

Still crashes every 5 min to 10 min. Does not matter where i am in the game. Vendors, dungeon’s, city, open world. Happens everywhere.

That’s some solid troubleshooting. I’ve got the exact same issue, and I’ve also done everything you’ve tried, plus all the little tweaks and junk that are too tedious to write.

How sad is it that I gave up last night and reinstalled battlefield 1 because it’s MORE stable?

We’ve got almost identical systems and symptoms. I’ll post any fixes here if I happen upon them in the future…

Left my PC powerless for 24 hours.

Installed NZXT Cam to get control over over my NZXT Kraken
Installed windows update Windows 11, version 23H2

Played for almost 20 min. Had my hopes up, but…still crashed

14-11
Ran FurMark GPU stress test for 15 minutes together with TechPowerUp GPU-Z to monitor the sensors. GPU load was 100% for 15 min. No problems with my GPU.
All values within range

same problem here…way lower pc specs though lol…seems to be more when im jumping in and out of stash screens and vendors …but also occaionally in game freezes for 30 seconds and then unfreeze and you’re dead lol glad im not playing hardcore

Ran through some solutions mentioned in Other posts

The Nvidia Reflex option is already on disabled here. No luck still crashing.

This post and suggestion.

Game freezing, staggering or even crashing? This might just work!

No luck for me.

Close to solution i feel.

Pulled 16 GB of ram
Playing with “only” 32GB now (first world problems  )
Played for a few hours straight with no problems.
No BSOD and no game crashes.
Watched Netflix on my second screen.

Game back to the Utra settings with DLSS and all. No problems.
At the start of the problems i already switched RAM.
So my best guess now is RAM slot 1 or RAM slot 3 on my Motherboard Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE AX is busted.
Gonna change motherboard mayby this weekend and play with 64 GB again.

19-11
Sent broken motherboard back with RMA
Bought new ROG Strix Z790 E gaming wifi and installed it.
No more issues. everything ok
