If anyone out there knows the gears of war franchise, our lead man in diablo 4 was on the SAME project. I dont understand how there was not some inspiration from that very concept. 50 waves of demons, Boss wave every 10 (we have the uber bosses ALREADY made" Also recreating a horde mode in diablo 4 adds MATCHMAKING (community asked for). Horde mode has LEADERBOARDS. I dont know where the innovation is to come from. So im going to spitball some ideas to make a REPLAYABLE mode where the demons actually want to kill you. Lets for starters remove potion drops from this mode and make an accessible healing well every 10 waves. So typically in GoW horde mode the affixs went after every 10 waves with stuff like more health and more damage. Now in later GoW horde modes trap systems were implemented. You could upgrade them and give them better bonuses. In nightmare vaults traps effect demons. When I heard of a new endgame system called the gauntlet. This is what I thought I was getting. Now we could add a timer for each wave to defeat all the demons. Hell i was thinking add some shrine clocks that increase the timer to complete harder waves but once used they are broken. This adds the extra strategy blizz is talking about. I think we could use a sort of transfer from open world maps as a dungeon environment. So Fractured peaks and Scosglen would be our maps. If all 5 players die, then its the end of the run and a score gets added up. It needs to be tough enough so people feel there is attainable personal progression. This will add the replay’able factor. Currently with the gauntlet, to compete and earn a place on the leaderboard, you are required to play the builds that overpower the content. This concept of challenge does not recreate replay’able content. Right now, the maths of diablo 4 is broken. This is making a constraint on balance. This removes choice in builds to compete at a higher level of content. Please if you read this, go watch some gears of war Horde mode videos and then recreate in your head of how you would put this into diablo 4. Loads of feedback would really interest me to read.
Not a bad idea, should be placed in torment 4 tough, we dont have anythign new in T4 and we realy need it as we do the same things in T3 as we do in T4.

I had some idea about a castle defense with lanes that needs to be pushed out to eventually destroy the fort at the end of it, but while doing so the other lanes need to be cleared. Then intensity grows as the game progress and there’d be a final boss.
It’s sort of the same idea. But I’m mostly about the world. I’d like something like legions but endless hordes sieging a city that we’d defend.
