GPU Temp - NOT good!

Not all games run identically or require the same horsepower, I do imagine they will optimize some of the game over the coming years, but with modern games going forward they will get more and more demanding on current hardware.

The silicon in both the GPU and the CPU chips are designed to run extremely hot, the CPU to around 105 before the system will shutdown, and the GPU around 110, you are making a fuss over nothing to be honest. We would all like our systems to run as cool as possible but as long as temps are in tolerance and your system does not sound like a helicopter landing with the fan rpm then nothing more can be said about it.

I’m also on rtx 2060 and it’s extremely rare for the card to go over 76c (even when overclocked) so yeah there is a definite issue there unfortunately. I will note that my hotspot runs into the 90’s with some applications but it’s nothing to really worry about.

A modern game AAA with the amount of work put into it with a game like Diablo 4 putting more demand on several generations old component is not an issue, it’s physics.

You’re right about that but i think the problem here is that d4 is pushing some hardware beyond it’s intended operating parameters, considering a couple generations ago the high 70’s to low 80’s were the operating limits I can understand seeing your system go into the high 80’s can look scary. You’re right in that modern hardware can easily push 100c that is without any real damage aside from shortening it’s lifespan though.

Yeah but tbh.

Turning every graphic setting to minimum and still having 97% gpu load…
That’s not a good indicator imo of the amount of work put into this. (atleast optimization)

If you would have actually cared and read the KNOWN ISSUES performance problems are a thing to be fixed…

If you have everything in the game set to low and the extras turned off and are still close to 100% usage, I would recommend checking the nVidia Control Panel to see what you have going on in there post game processing. ie. sharpening, render resolution ect…

As i stated before.

Not an issue in any other game.

Just for fun i’ll OC my card and see what it does temp wise lol.

I did read the known issues.

I still wanted to share my experience tho…

If i may ask which manufacturer is your card? I’m using the MSI version

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 OC

Have you checked the technical specification sheet of all the other games you play and compared it to the technologies Blizzard is using with Diablo 4?

You are saying your fork is faulty because it’s fine with the noodles but does not work with the soup. Different systems, different game engines.

But you’re convinced and I won’t be saying it a third time.

Thanks for your input!

Tried to replicate the issue but even when running my card overclocked it stays relatively cool (low 70’s). I think thermal paste and hoping for a fix are the best options.

Well thanks for joining in on this issue!

35 actually while idle. i expected 60 in d4 but it stops at 40ish.

Why would I consider myself lucky ? My old card ran at that temp , didn’t have any problem…This one runs the same. On another PC I have a 970GTX which runs at the same temp in full load without any issues.

Like I said , picture or it never happens…Please stop talking nonsense that looks like engineering . No one had conductors melting issues running gpu at 80 degrees. Even some damn game reviews for hogwarts legacy show the gpu running at 80 degrees and still consider it ok, and you are coming here and telling us your idle temp is 25 and everyone else should be lucky with 70-80 :))))))…

Even people with 2-3k euro cards like RTX 4090 run this game on full load at 70 probably capping at 75 degrees and are still fine with their conductors and melting spools or whatever black magic your imagining there.

So this guy with RTX 4090 runs it at 60-70 degrees while your 3070 runs at 40 degrees…Dude…your sensor is either broken or your playing the game on the northern cap of the polar hemisphere. At least the other dude spewed some engineering nonsenses…

Cool
I dont care
