Seriously. This is really stupid and confusing. I have all items in game from my xbox purchase but i cant make the new character. This is TOTALLY stupid and this is something you need to solve with Xbox.
Play anywhere is play anywhere not play somewhere!

Sorry to be dense, but help me out here. If I’m missing a DLC download what does that mean and how do I double check?

So what is the fix to this? I pre ordered the ultimate edition and have all the wings/mount/pet and the store says I’ve got access to all 3 versions which are greyed out and have green ticks but I can’t access the new character on the selection screen??

Have exactly same issue. Have deluxe versions bought like month ago on Xbox and can’t play expansion… what’s wrong with that ?!

Hello.
I’m having trouble joining the game. The add-on was purchased before its premiere. I want to create a character, it redirects me to buy the add-on, but when I go to the purchase menu, it says “unlocked” that I have the add-on. I reset, updated the game and still nothing. 
My girlfriend was having this issue at first, you need to go to the manage game and add-on’s section for Diablo 4 in your game library and install a 10mb file for the DLC. This fixed the initial issue of not being able to create a Spiritborn character.

I have similar problem, but I was able to create Spiritborn, but randomly while playing the game, my mercenary will disappear and can’t access the new map. When I logout, I can’t use the Spiritborn character until I logout, close the game and restart. It’s a real pain in the butt, but at least I can use my character for a little while…

I am only playing on XBox Live. I did get it working, but ended up being charged twice for the Ultimate Edition upgrade. How do I get my money back on the second copy?
Could you please explain a bit more. What do you mean by manage. Do you happen to play it on Xbox?
I’m on PC and cannot play “Vessel of Hatred” even after pre-purchasing “Vessel of Hatred Ultimate Edition”.

This is WHY Blizzard needs a Customer Support center! This isn’t a technical request or a character wish, it is a MONETARY TRANSACTION that should be fixed IMMEDIATELY.
So im randomly being removed mid game. Ill be playing my spiritborn and all of a sudden the mercenary dissapears and I can acess new content quest and everything just dissapear when i log out it tell me i dont own the expansion i have to go to the home screen and quit the game to reset it but it keeps happing

I’ve fixed this issue for me, here are the steps for xbox:
- goto xbox store and find VoH dlc (by some reason there are TWO products), choose the one which is already bought
- go inside the product page and press the grey button which says that “the product is already bought” or something like that. After than xbox downloads something small like 10Mb and you’ll be able to plan VoH

Does this mean to be able to play dlc steam version, we need to purchase it in steam store only? Then why in june, when I pre-purchased the dlc, in-game pre-order link redirected to battle.net for payment?? Anyway, it wasn’t a problem before in past seasons when purchasing battle passes or platinum from in-game (steam) linked to battle.net (payment) then received the goods in game (steam). Now the dlc is not showed anywhere in steam library, only for purchase. However it is in battle.net library but not the base game… Still can’t play the extension. Very disappointing

Same as all above. Bought ultimate bundle, can’t play as spiritborne on xbox,
So if I play on PC and XBox, I need to purchase the expansion twice? This is very misleading and wasn’t clear when we purchased the expansion… and also doesn’t make sense. I didn’t have to buy the game twice to play it on two platform.

This information was not there when we purchased the game!!!
I have the game on PS5. I own the base game and I bought the ultimate edition expansion.
For around half of the day I have been having to turn my PS5 off to reset the game. This is because it keeps kicking me out of the new area and it then says that I need to buy the expansion. Quests keep resetting because of this and mercenary companions just disappear, This is extremely disappointing as I would just like to play the game. I was going to buy the new necromancer skin from the shop but this has really put my off. Please resolve this as it is making me not want to play.
I bought the expansion for ps in June and now they’re saying I don’t have it
