I feel that using corpses to summon the basic skeletons is just a stupid idea, they should just be summoned from the ground, that way in a boss fight there will always be minions to help in the fight especially early game where they just die and no corpses to summon them. It then just becomes a game of cat and mouse and long slog of a fight just spamming same skills & doing little damage.

But then how would it work with the other corpse abilities if the game just summons skeletons from every corpse it finds.

You have to manually summon the skeleton. Which means that you can use the existing corpse for explosion, buff etc.
i find Healing minions if full pack is stupid. It sucks. Let me respawn minion with full HP instead.
I gotta agree it’s kind of idiotic - especially with how they die now from anything just breathing on them. If they’re gonna be this squishy, let them be auto-summoned, even. OR get their stats back to where they were before the nerf. It’s absolutely ridiculous trying to get back into a fight if you die now, and even during the fight, some 75-90% of it is spent summoning skeletons again and again and again. I should be supporting them with my spells.
So, the skeletons is going to be a long round of buff/nerf state for blizz to get right.
Prev obt, they was invulnerable, you summoned 5 and you never need to summon them again, there was a reason to why 8/10 players you saw in town was necro…
This weekend skeltons was like wet paper tissue. If you did NOT use Decompose and BloodMist you stood 0 chanse agasint dungeon bosses as a minion build as the bosses would kill all skeletons whitin 5 sec of the fight. Spending 3 points on the passive that buffed the minions HP became mandatory, rather then waht should have been optional.
So Blizz, you now have both ends of the scale found, just set skellys hp and durability to the middle and start balancing from there.
Correct, decompose is a skill you definitely need. Without it, bosses will be very hard to almost unbeatable with a Necromancer.
Necromancer is still a very good class, but only with a specific build. So, in the end you will only see the same Necro build over and over again, and other skills will not be used.
I have the feeling that Blizzard have issue’s in getting Necromancer balanced out.
But keep in mind, we only saw Necromancer till level 20 last beta. We haven’t seen everything yet…
Anytime you add combat pets to the mix, balance becomes a big challenge. And more so when you add an army like they have for necro.
Druids pets was nice, better then the last obt, but then again, it is only one single pet (two for the wolf) The wolfs had a mutch better durability then the skellys, maybe becouse they arent dead, maybe that its ment to be like that, but the wolfs atleast came back by themselfs when they dided…
If anything, blizz should look at the current wolf pets for druid and use thouse as defualt pet template, and adust the skellys thereafter.
That is my opinion atleast.
But Necromancer can spawn four skeletons (or 5 depends on your build) and three skeleton mages at the same time.
If they have the same durability as Druid pets, then Necromancer would become OP over a Druid.
Depends on how you play the druid, and it aint ment to be played as a summon necro.
1 single wolf and one single skelly should be equal, then tone down the baseline stats on the pets based on how many pets a class has out at the same time.
That value is going to take a long time for blizz to find, and the summon necro will be all over the place in terms of preformance in the first 3-4 months is my prediction.
Or just revert the nerf and just make the heal useful again, it should be more useful than letting the minions die and spawning them new.
Cant be how it was in first obt for the final release, thouse minions was so OP it was plain broken. You summoned them at lv1 and never summoned them again, they never died!
They died on the World boss and they would die in future too, you forget, that we were only playing act 1, if those minions cannot even survive a trash mob, how can this class be useful for endgame/bosses?
Apart of the blood mist legendary, Necro wasn’t even the strongest class before the nerfs, Rogue was dealing massively more damage and still does the most damage, even when it got nerfed too.
Only advantage of necro was, it was easy and comfortable to play, as summon builds usually are, but if you take that away, what is the point of necro? Doesn’t have the survivability, mobility, utility nor damage as others classes with the current minions. It’s just an extremely weak Sorc.
what iwould change with necro
If your using 1h +shield skeletons take half dmg
if your using 2h weapon skeletons 50% more dmg
1h+focus could do something else aswell
Summon skeleton should have it own button and not take hot bar space aswell
