Today, when I play, i crash for 6 time in now 30 mins. The game crash when i teleport out of dungeon, enter the dungeon or just teleport to other place.
To restart the game i need to go in the task managment.
Don’t tell me i am over heat like allways since i check my pc and i am between 50-52 degres.
Thanks to look over this !!!
Have the same problem, wonder what they implemented in this 1.3.x patch
Same here. Just got a 4080 Super, upgraded from 2070 Super, and it crashes on startup. If I get it to run, it will freeze after a short time. Usually when teleporting as well. Reinstalled the game with a clean install of NVIDIA drivers. Even lowered GPU settings, including no DLSS.
Update… I crashed on load this morning. Couldn’t even get in. Uninstalled BatttleNet (deep clean) and reinstalled. That allowed me to get in. Time will tell if the crash during teleport happens again.
This has been happening to me since after the update. I had a brief moment yesterday where I got in and played for an hour. Couldn’t load in last night at all. This morning the same thing. I don’t get a lot of extra time to play these days so this is pretty sad when I choose this game to play and this what we get. If this isn’t resolved by today at some point I think this is the end of the road for Diablo with me- a story/game that I have really enjoyed overall for the last 20 years. I am sure Blizzard is hard at work trying to fix this no? Hoping for the best. x.x
Well atleast you get to play… some of us aren’t even able to get past the splash screen b4 it freezes!!!

Updating again. That only worked for a bit. Deleting the LocalPrefs.txt file, located at C:\Users\username\Documents\Diablo IV , worked. The file is remade. It started up, but you’ll have to rest text to speech and skip the intro scene. After that I lowered my graphic settings and it was stable for awhile.
The only issue I’m having now is when I teleport out of certain dungeons, like Duriel, it freezes again. Walking out of the cave is the only way I can avoid a freeze. Hope this helps.
Same. Makes it more fun without an endgame. (cynicism)
p.s. It seems to be connected to the layer transfers from dungeons to open world while in group with a member in another layer.
p.s. 2 It seems to work to use “E” (Leave dungeon) before you travel to town.
Same here. Now even if i delete config from my documents its freez instantly. Hope they give patch with fix.
Non stop crashes, fix your pathetic programming thanks.
After the update my game always crashes on the loading screen, and now my gpu has stopped working, I can’t turn on the computer, there’s no video at all (cpu does not have integrated video)
I can’t buy another one , just thanks for this update
Game crash all days after 2 hour play, and blue screen, error code 0x8000400000000002…
I am also experiencing a lot of crashes, when i log in, when i teleport there is a high chance it will just crash on me
Also crashing, when I finally got in after resetting LocalPrefs, I noticed that I USED to be able to play in windowed mode, and move the window around on my screen. Now, the second you move the window from windowed mode, it FORCES it into full 4k resolution. I was playing less than that for performance reasons, and now can only do so with screen on far upper left of my monitor…Nvidia Quadro M5000. Latest drivers.
Saw this on the EU Tech Support forum, maybe it’ll help.
WE need to fix game ?? seriusly where is Blizzard ? where is devs where is xxxxx milions $ they got for hype shit game :(( each patch is worse and wors :((
dont play on toster and update system bios drivers
Fixes didn’t work for me, neither deleting the DLL, nor trying the leave dungeon first. Seriously surprised that nobody has found the fix for this in all this time, more importantly, it has not been patched.
Happy to say I found a fix for this issue, finally.
It has to do mostly with 13 and 14th gen Intel CPUs (especially K series ones, but could also affect others).
There’s two ways to fix it :
-
Check if your motherboard maker made a new BIOS that supports the “Intel Baseline Profile”. If so, update your BIOS, go into it and select that profile.
-
Download Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, go into advanced settings and at the bottom, for your performances cores, reduce the multiplier on all of them by 2 (so if you have cores at 58x and some at 55x, you put them at 56x and 53x respectively). Apply and launch the game crash free (Contrary to the bios fix, you’ll have to run the intel software and apply this everytime you restart your PC)
For those playing call of duty, this also fixes crashes in that game as well (and probably others)
Hey
Tnx a lot for this advice, i think its solved my issue,
- I installed the intel Extreme tuning utility but performance cores were grayed so I couldn’t make it from the soft.
- I updated my bios to the last version but there was no baseline profile, ( my motherboard is b760 Gaming X Gigabyte) so I just manually downgraded performance cores from the bios, and the issue was solved.
