if you want to prevent players from botting, and buying off websites then REMOVE mats requirement from bosses, and let us farm them as we want, if you do NOT care about people buying off websites then just remove the restriction on legendary and uniques for trading… let us play like d2… no time gating, no material grind for a boss , it has ONLY hurt the game more than helped,
its a straight fact that 99% of the player base is buying mats from g2g , or IGGM for massive massive quantities, like 1000 eggs/shards and just go ham on uber duriel all day, because NO1 wants to sit in helltide and grind all day, you brought all this on your self blizzard, PLEASE. remove the material requirement in the next seasonal update, that way you can also remove the materials being bought off websites,
I disagree. Farming torches in D2 required to play other part than Uber Tristram, and it was a good occasion to find potentially good runes, other uniques, etc.
The only problem I have is that the Uber bosses often have loot that isn’t that great for some classes, or even not usable for end-game builds. If they made the Uber bosses, and activities leading to that more rewarding, then it would be more bearable for most. The fact that Helltide chest can’t drop Uber uniques at all anymore makes it a known waste of time. Same for Whisper caches. Even if they kept the chances at 0.0001%, at least there is “one off chance” to have something rather than “I know I won’t get anything from it”.
there is a HUGE VASTE OCEAN between farming materials for uber duriel who has a drop pool of like 10 uber uniques and all with a 2% drop chance and then an uber boss who literally guarantees to give you the mats, and the torch on your first try, if your unlucky you can simply trade that torch for some1 you need?
trust me i played d2 since it released and every single day at school for 10 years and then 10 years more as i grew up, into ressurection, even way more after d3 came out :), so i know how the farming in d2 is its night and day, even in terms of FUN , and its why every1 is buying mats, its simply NOT fun, the fun in d2 came from finding valuable loot for trading that could help you achieve the loot your looking for, so even if you did 100-200 mephisto runs you would eventually find something that could be traded for something YOU needed, every run was more profitable than uber duriel,
This I agree with. Not being able to trade is just such a pain. I have legendaries, uniques I want to give to my friends and simply can’t. I would love to be able to trade an Uber I don’t need for one I do need.
If the PTR is anything to go off, the BOT farmers are going to make an absolute fortune because the material drop rate for Vasharn mats is absolutely disgusting. Best part about that is, even Duriel is gated by that garbage and people need both bosses.
In the whole time I was on the PTR farming as much as possible, I got enough mats for only 5 Duriel summons. 5!!!
And the drop rate on bloods and distilled fear was amazing tho, so that’s a positive.
If they could do the same with the other materials then people wouldn’t be going to 3rd party buyers
Trading will save our nerves and yes giving uniques or ubers to our friends must be allowable. Or why we even run in with friends. We only have ill-feelings in group runs when friend get what I need.
It’s unexpected they’d free trade. Gz, Jymak; good times up ahead for u. I know it’s an important question.
About the farm… Well, I like not having to play Duriel too much as a slot machine. But I also like loot and being able to complete my character without external aid.
And I do enjoy farming. Not sure what we’d do if we didn’t have the farm. Run Duriel, or whatever boss, like in classic D2 except that we wouldn’t even have a run to do before the boss. Just over and over, Duriel for 12 hours a day and then… game over. bg.
Duriel summons should be lessened but the drop rate should increase proportionally, that’s what I’d like. That way I won’t feel I have to do it quickly either, because it’s not 50 summons but 5. And it’s more exciting every time the thing dies, because it might actually drop something. Like we’re running now it becomes a game of attrition instead of excitement.
Trading wont kill RMT, quite the opposite, it will let people straight up buy gear instead of buying mats to farm gear. Stop acting like D2 was such a innocent game, people bought and sold gear and runes left and right on third market websites. RMT doesnt hurt blizzard, they made their money when you bought the game, its not like blizzard has a material shop thats loosing money because of third party websites. But if people continue to buy mats, they will make a store like that, just look at WoW, people couldn’t stop buying gold, and blizzard decided the best way to deal with it was selling the gold themselves. Is that what you want for D4?
Anyone who buys RMT only ruins the game for themselves and their fellow players.
Trading is not the solution, smoothing out the time spent to rewards earned ratio is. Increase material drops and reduce material requirements. I will never understand why everyone is so hung up on trading, Trading leads to bots and RMT, always does, always have, in every online game ever.
I agree that trading isn’t a good answer in this context. But I don’t see it hurting me beyond always playing from behind. Suppose nothing’s changing for me as it’s always like that. Cause I’m mostly solo. But lately I’ve been hanging a bit. Friends are good for progression. Not sure where some of those guys get their materials but I’m not asking or judging, it’s not really my business I figure. Especially when I benefit greatly from generosity offered. I still go about my business, getting shards and eggs no matter how geared I get. That’s a good thing about the materials, they keep me going.
There’s some things about trading, strong positives: Interaction and favors. Both those make friends and friends make games more fun. It also adds depth to the game and opportunities.
Just u wait until the ai boom happens. I figure a thinking bot will own these fields. Not sure to what extent. Like I want to farm, that’s why I’m here! kill monsters and get loot. But others are here only for the bling into town-standing for attention I suppose. Which is fine with me, each to their own. But the bots though, they make any human accomplishment trivial. Whatever though, I don’t care about “winning” this. And it sure is impossible competing with bots. Especially a clever bot that will school me in convo too. that will be… humiliating haha! …
Would be great, but it will never happen. Almost a year has passed and it’s perfectly clear now, that this game D4 was made purely to farm money. The game costing 70 eur and, for example, random horse skin 65 eur (LOL) no questions left. But they failed to understand that in order for players wanting to spend this kind of cash, you have to make a great game. It has to be top1 game of all times on all platforms, not the top1 piece of shit with a beautiful picture it is now.
Of course they have a guy reading the forums, several.
This one’s slower moving so easier to spot a topic or post also.
But they won’t reply of course.
How do I know? Because feedback is essential to production.
They should let us give items to friends. LE has a Gift sector where you can give items to your friends.
In LE you find materials 10 times more than D4 and you can graft what you want and don’t run out of materials.
Now when Blizz copies LE grafting system they don’t give us materials, so we are in same position than before.
You can graft if run like a fool to collect materials or run Duriel like a cracy man or buy them with money. That’s DIABLO. Make END game and we are HAPPY!!!.
After killing Duriel at least 10-20 times and receiving the same useless junk over and over (trying for an Uber Helm) so this is 80 items it starts to become tiring and overly boring.
I have to agree remove the mats , I would rather them do a system where you kill the boss and you have a choice (Add a % Drop Multiplier to a specific item in exchange for all the items dropped) Of course the Drop Multiplier would be reset upon receiving desired item and you could repeat the process this would guarantee that the player would not have to spend endless days rolling dice to try for an item but more of a “work towards your item” system.
Could be a window displaying
“Drops from boss, Exchange for Drop Multiplier on X item or Take Loot?”
The system at the moment feels like a gambling fruit machine, Go farm your money (2 eggs and 2 shards) then go put them in the machine “Summon Duriel”, and see what he spits out.
Yes, this is a huge problem with the game. There should be no resource requirement to enter the Pit, it should open simply at will and the choice of dungeon should be up to the player.
Ubers should also be called upon either for one universal resource or for free. We come to the dungeon, choose from the list who we want to beat and call the boss for a universal resource. Then there will be no problem that we have 10,000 of one resource and 0 of another. And this will remove unnecessary problems.
