Came out of it with 3k in Red Dust, narrowly avoiding losing the dust against a Bleed Barbarian with 7 levels advantage and likely a bunch of high quality gear.
Sooooo… How am I supposed to avoid death by player in those places? Seems like all the players I encountered there ready and willing to throw down were high geared, higher level players. How do I combat that?
Abd I would like some actual answers as well, rather than the generic “Git gut” answers. That sentiment would be accurate if it were not for the game being level/gear dependent.
When Blizzard has already openly stated pre-release they were not going to concern themselves with making pvp any kind of fair in Diablo 4, there really is no "gitting of gud"in a joke pvp mode inside of a pve game with no restrictions on level, gear or number of opponents.
Think of it as an arena of griefing that everyone sensible simply avoids and you have the general idea.
Best advice I have for anyone who still wants to engage with this content is to bring friends and be level 100 with endgame gear.
Git gut gear and level… also git gut PvP build because PvE tourists will be always munched alive in there. Problematic part is that right now switching to PvP build and back is way above 20M gold past lv 100 so there’s that.
In old fashioned games the danger of a PvP necessitated the need to travel in small groups and friends or clan buddies as mutual protection … by-product of this is that it creates a far more vibrant server community and a few tears. Until WOW started in 2005 i found it strange that you didn’t do everything with your clan … I had ben use to many years of PvP in which they looted your corpse of items if they killed you
I would be interested in seeing what would an arena styled battleground look like in this game, where stats, gear and levels were normalized in a way so that there wouldn’t be huge gaps in gear taking place.
Though yeah, given the niche appeal, safe to say there won’t be a lot of that being seen.
That is fair. And true, I’m still in the somewhat early stages of the gold costs, and I can imagine it’ll get crazier as time goes on.
Unfortunately I’m not very compatible with guilds/clans, and I feel perfectly content just playing with my girlfriend.
It really is just The Dark Zone Diablo Edition. At least the prices on the horse armor aren’t too outlandish, one could theoretically go in there a couple of times, get what he’d want and then never visit again. Let’s hope the devs don’t get the idea to increase the cost
ehm, why are you having it to hostile in pvp then? i literally just walk in, kill monsters and im not hostile to players, and i get tons of red dust? :o
Turning it in turns PvP on for you, but others around have to enable PvP to attack you. Have had plenty of people “attacking” me without enabling their PvP.
