I’ve got Ultimate pre-order purchase like a month ago, everything till update was fine, all accesories etc… but after update with Vessel of Hatred, can’t enter new Region, game is telling me to buy expansion, even tho I bought it last time and worst of all… can’t play Spiritborn
Hello MattK,
What platform did you buy it on?
We’re currently investigating an issue where steam purchases made in the in-game store aren’t being correctly recognized.
Hello Tyrskorn,
I bought it on Xbox Series X/S, I’ve got Diablo IV by Game Pass Ultimate, and wanted to play on PC, till yesterday everything was fine, I checked it like a minute ago on Console if everything works, and still no option to create Spiritborn, even tho it shows that I’ve bought all content avaible.
Ok so you would need to buy the expansion separately for each platform you want to play on.
He said he bought it on Xbox Ultimate game pass, which Xbox games can be played on PC.
So Technically he should be able to play D4 VoH on PC without the need of rebuying via Blizz App/Store.
Okay, even tho I agree with OmegaReaper… but what about a Console, I checked all the expansion add-ons like armor, pet, mount, etc… and still no option, for example to create Spiritborn on Console ( Xbox ).
There is another topic for Xbox specifically here:
I own D4 Ultimate (steam). 10th june pre-purchased D4 VoH Ultimate dlc from in-game, which linked me into battle.net store (if I remember correctly). Went fine, got all bonuses instantly. Today the game was updated near 60gb patch, the loading screen clearly shows “Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred’s”, music, green buttons, but spiritborn is greyed out when choosing class. Dlc not shown in steam library nor for download, only for purchase
same issue here, blizz I want refound if you cannot promiss your word
I have bought this expansion well over a month ago as well, had the aestetics and a battlepass which I already used up, and now I can go to the changed map BUT I can’t play the expansion character… keeps trying to show me the trailer for it…
Dissappointing is quite the understatement.
I’m really confused.
First, I bought the game on Steam though it didn’t add the game to Battle.Net ( I couldn’t install it directly from Battle.Net )… I would have bought the expansion through Steam, though because some “super smart” people used VPN to buy games from my country ( Türkiye ), Steam decided to use US prices in Türkiye which was abysmal…
Anyway after Gamepass decided to share Diablo IV, I finally found out the game on Battle.Net also… I’m using Gamepass Ultimate BTW.
I didn’t want to buy the expansion from Steam, especially after the USD conversion. It would probably also not update on Battle.Net…
On September 7th, I bought “Vessel of Hatred Ultimate Edition” directly from Battle.Net … Not upgrade or anything…
I pre-downloaded content on 6th. Today downloaded another 32 GB update, and started the game. Though the first image was confusing because it said “purchase” Vessel of Hatred, which I already did… When logging in it always say “Downloading Data” for a second or two. When I tried to create a new Spiritborn character I saw it is locked.
What’s happening? How can I activate “Vessel of Hatred” expansion?!?
We’ve identified the issue that was causing this and have been able to resolve the majority of cases automatically. That said, there is a small number of players that may still not be able to access the expansion following a successful in-game purchase on the Steam platform.
Those players will need to contact support directly here for a manual fix.
If this alleged fix didn’t work for you guys just go the refund / chargeback route.youre not getting what you paid for.
I contacted CS twice. First time, got a non answered pointing to out of date info about he launch delay and had my ticket marked as answered. Second time I got no response.
Refunded via steam, and done with buying crap from Blizzard, which kills me. I’ve been playing Since Diablo 1 / Warcraft 2. Considering the price and the CS experience, plus other policies like buy it on each platform again even though we force a common DRM scheme via Battlenet…hope the share price bump is worth it guys, and if not…you’ll have good company from Ubisoft, a prime lesson to what happens if you keep doubling down on alienating your customers.
Good day.
We have now completed work together with Steam on a new fix which should cover all remaining cases.
For anyone who previously made an expansion purchase in the Steam in-game store and didn’t receive access, we’d love to hear back with confirmation that you now do, or if you’re still having issues.
Thanks in advance!
