Someone mentioned lowering the graphics settings helped. It did not help for me at all. On the second teleport black screen. I had the frames per second running (control R twice) and the fps fluctuates slightly. It is like something is still going on, but I can’t see it (black screen). Chat still works - I see people trying to trade. When I hit the “u” key I see the battle pass stuff, but also a warning error (code 700003). It would be nice to hear from Blizzard that they are working on a fix.

In game, this looks a black screen with the HUD active. Some keys work (esc, u, p), but effectively you can only alt-f4 the game.
My system is based on a Ryzen 5 5600, RX 6700 XT, 32gb DDR4 and a WD Blue SN570 1TB M.2 SSD.
Please fix this, it’s very annoying losing all elixirs, keys and other consumables.
I’m adding to this thread having this same problem. My PC is Ryzen 5 3rd gen my gpu is Radeon 6600XT. I’m on a wired LAN with gig internet. The problem is this game it’s buggy. Wish they would fix it.

Black screen teleport started for me 3 days ago, it was all good until then. I’m using an AMD Ryzen 5600X.
I discovered a fix for this. I will tell Blizzard what I did to fix this if they pay me $1000.
That’s a sign of a client and server going out of sync. If things are named “sane”, then client received a packet with a serial number that has already been used. Easy to say it’s connection stability, but a lag spike in a server that takes too long to generate the message is just as likely.
Do you see these messages alway just before a black screen?
Yes, I’ve seen those before, I’ve read about those on the forums as well. I agree that this somehow indicates a problem in the connection, you can see it takes multiple (~7) seconds from the ‘warpmanager’ log lines to the out of order tick, that must indicate that something takes too long / goes wrong there.
The thing is that I’ve never had issues with this setup before VoH. Besides that, when playing the game I always stream something as well, no hiccups there either when the problem in the game occurs. If there’s actually a connection problem on my side, I’d expect problems in the stream as well.
The thing with connections is that there’s 3 possible causes:
- local endpoint
- transport
- remote endpoint
Your streaming service is likely to be somewhere else as Diablo IV servers. If your ISP is using a route with an unstable peering partner, then the transport to Diablo IV servers is broken while the different route to your streaming service is unaffected.
If you have a different ISP for your mobile phone and have a good 4G/5G service, it might be worth playing over mobile just to see if things improve.
You can indeed use the streaming service as an indication of local endpoint lag.
That is not what fixed it for me. Connection on LAN amazing speeds fiber connection still had this problem. It’s a change I made on my PC to make this go away. It’s a simple fix. Unplug ANY controller bluetooth or USB that you have connected. If you have a controller connected D4 client fails to load correctly on zoning into towns.
disconnection USBs? My keyboard and mouse are connecting to USB ports…
I think Skullcrusher means game controllers.
I think if game controllers are causing the issue, that’s pretty big for players that only play with controller, yeah? It’s bad for adaptive players too. I exclusively play with controller, and this bug is pretty good for making sure I take breaks every half hour or so out of frustration!
30 out of 50 times i TP back to a city i get black screen and i need to restart the game. Before i can play agian.

Hey blizzard give me back all my opals elixirs and stuff like that for loosing them on every 5 out of 10 teleports. Especially if you finally find clickable xp well it hurts even more when you tp out of dungeon and get black screen.

Still happening for me as well, I don’t believe it happened to me once before VOH and it happens roughly 20-30% of the times I TP now/multiple times in a playing session. Pretty rough when you have a bunch of rare consumables going.
Same. Never had this issue before. Not even at the very beginning of VOH.
For me it started somewhere around 2.0.4 i think.
Pretty annoying. My PC ain’t great, so it takes some time to close and reopen the game, but it’s never been an issue playing as I’ve rarely encountered crashes or bugs like this.
This however, is quite gamebreaking for me.
