There’s hardly any activity on the forum, because of a lack of interest in the game, and there’s hardly anyone in the game.
If you look around the clans, most are inactive, with something like 3/150 players online.
The seasons are boring and the content just seems like ‘filler’ with no decent rewards the make it worthwhile. The endgame grind is meaningless. Only the deal diehards are going to stick with this formula.

You are correct in everything you write.
D4 needs a “revolution” in terms of gameplay to bring gamers back to it. It is not impossible, but first the devs has to admit they made a game a vast majority of the Diablo fans did not like, nor want to play. (like, we all liked the story, but there is nothing outside of it)
Currently they wont admit that.

I think they admitted it. They announced a rework of itemization in season four, which means they see a problem. The fact that they don’t do anything about lag and a few other things gives the impression that they are doing something bigger and waiting for the right moment. I feel like season 3 will be a waste, but they have to do something after that because people won’t buy the expansion. The fact that they added an underdeveloped AoZ without leaderboards also suggests that they are still working on the balance and only gave us something to do temporary.

OF course season is boring when it’s 3 months after it started
The best thing you can do is to play d4 like 2 weeks after season starts that’s the most fun you will have in the game everyone is grinding doing stuff
just like this season i grinded week and half completed 99% game and quit till next one
Seasons are boring even they hasn’t start, the hole D4 is.

Most people like myself probably did the duriel grind for some ubers and tried out AoZ, maybe also tried the midwinter event for a time but after that quit playing until next season comes out.
Problem with seasons is they are generally focused on testing out new gameplay features, some new skills, aspects and gear followed by some class, skill and gear balancing but they are always extremely light on added story content and the one thing that I like about Diablo is the lore and story and on that front these seasons are not very satisfying, so these seasons only hold my attention for a month or so then I just stop caring and wait for the next season.
The other biggest issue besides lack of an additional satisfying level of story centric content each season… is fact that every season you just grind the same few zones and the half dozen generic AI template generated dungeon types that just have a different name slapped on them over and over again. Theres over a hundred dungeons in D4 but only like half dozen template types so even if has different boss at end you still feel like ran this same dungeon dozens of times before even if only ran each dungeon one time because you literally have and it just has a different name.
In my opinion there should be multiple unique ‘one of a kind’ dungeons, not every dungeon needs to be but at least some and should be unique both in its theme and design, you can have AI generate random layout and monster placement plus mini events but each one of those one of a kind dungeons should be so unique that the world wouldn’t feel so lifeless, generic, bland and feel like a constant deluge of déjà vu.
The game expansion is desperatley needed for additional and quite lengthy new story/lore expansion, a new class and a much wider variety of locations and dungeons and like I said at least some of those dungeons need to be longer unique hand crafted dungeons with multiple floors and an end boss specific to that dungeon. The theme and design of those unique dungeons based around this boss and its theme not just the same theme and assets used in dozen of other dungeons with just different names slapped on them and a generic boss which have already killed elsewhere in the game in ‘non-elite’ form that just has a different name on it.

Itemisation being worked on is promising. Let’s see it then.
I only want the world to be fun to play in. The dungeons aren’t my thing. So I guess this game isn’t for me then. But I’ll play the next season, might be fun for a few moments.

Hmm, that is not my take of what the issue with D4 is.
It is soooo slooooow. The gameplay is just way too slow, levelling alts is a chore which just means i wont replay on a different character.
It is almost as if they made the game so you would buy then stop playing after you paid your money…

For me the issue is different… Diablo 4 was supposed to be a great game. I played the early releases and it was actually a lot more fun… Then something happened at the release. They somehow decided to nerf every characters, every cool combo we had find. They made the game impossible to play - or at least to have fun with -. Either you were not doing anymore damage (eg sorcerer hydra) or you were extremely slow to progress (druid, barbarian) or it was buggy (eg events not ending, lags, broken quests, etc). A number of basic things were missing for a diablo as well, such as … the training grounds. Of course players would want to test their equipments since diablo is very much an equipment-based game and fine tuning…
And if all of that wasn’t sufficient… imagine you pain reaching a high level and suddenly they decide to nerf again your character. Happened to me and my sorceress. At first the damage and cooldown reduction… basically screwing up everything you have worked and prepared. And then even the survivability. I remember trying for 1 day the helltides and i was litterally dying every 5mn or so by a one-shot kill by a random mob…
When you work on a character, you expect his progression to remain constant. It wasn’t and if Blizzard god decide to nerf you, there is nothing you can do and it is obviously not fun.
I do believe they did these mistakes as they were too greedy and wanted to extend the gameplay and people to stay longer (eg a teleport taking 10s !!). The irony is that now that they commercially broke the game… I think it has become fun again. You have normal progression rate, many different types of characters and strategies actually do work (because of their nerf, we were forced to rely only on the single best strategy that was still working)… so it’s actually the game we should have had in the first place… and it’s really not that bad, dare i say it’s even a good game now. But it’s too late.
The other thing is… “online”: you do feel pretty much alone in the game. I even was playing with some friends I know… and it was difficult to actually play with them. Much more than in diablo 3. Messaging is clumsy, teleport to them is so so. Not to mention once again all the traps Blizzard layed out for us with their nerfs, elongated TPs etc, the bugs… for the joke, I just posted because I finally reach a point where I can kill echo of lilth as many times as I want and… no drop. I really don’t know what to say when you reach that level of ridicule. Imagine spending dozen of hours improving your character to finally kill the end boss and… nothing, she just died, you complete the dungeon and… that’s it. I don’t even know if that’s a bug or just yet another ridicule decision tbh.
So I don’t know if the game will somehow revive… I do hope so as it’s not a bad game but some ridiculous decisions were taken and did break all the fun and all the hope of players

For me the most interesting event is when another player shows up.
“What is he doing?” I think.
But for me it’s exhausting playing with others for too long.
So perfection would be if I met them and then it was good bye at some random point.
That’s how it goes now. The only problem is that they’re useless and so am I to them.
What if what he was doing was something I could use? What if we could take choke-points and hold ground? What if we could retreat and advance? What if there was a game beyond hammering buttons until whatever is down, then rush to whatever?
But I guess I’m just in the wrong genre. “Arpg is supposed to be brain-dead” ok. Well, it doesn’t make for good multi so might as well scrap that then and make it single.
They should make “Diablo tactics”, call it that, and then make it like a moba with permanent characters you pick.
Two teams: Good and evil.
Open maps with pve and pvp mixed in. Everything hard style.
Instanced territorial games… Idk how to solve it but it doesn’t have to be even games cause you’re leveling and getting gold, and expect to be beat at some point.
Long progression like Diablo is. But gear having less impact and levels too. Small things is a big deal in the big picture of a pvp game.
Anyway, my idea of this is some kind of mmoba; I think that would be fun.
This was not the experience I was looking for. It’s fun enough but it’s not what I want.
Actually they don’t need to get any teams, just make it harder and more tactical; get us teaming up because we need to deal with mobs. And make serious fights. More skills maybe, more things to account for.
Not sure why I’m even writing this. You guys love this game or what? You just want… what do u want? Maybe it’s just me who doesn’t get the genre anymore. Why am I in a dungeon getting items to use to get items? Why am I helltiding to kill duriel to helltide to kill duriel? I don’t get it. I did back in Diablo 1. I kinda got it in Diablo 2 but with Diablo 3 I lost it, and it’s still lost. There’s nothing there. What’s the gameplay? You rock this gameplay in 5 minutes, master no problem; then what?
I’m Back to Diablo 2 again. Probably it’s the most fun formula.
Here you can still find some valuable items and runes, and you can exhange them.
For me (and I repeat, for me) to kill the market around this game was a bad move.

Diehards and Youtubers, the latter of which are in a two-way relationship with Blizzard since they essentially promote the game (for free). The new ‘content’ is completely aimed at providing youtubers with weekly content to get through so they can keep promoting the game.
This is Blizzard’s solution to the game’s problems.

This Season for me was fun with the whole Vampire areas that until around lvl 80 were more fun than Helltides.
Though I’ll admit I got bored before December with Season 2, after the grind to 100 and killing Lilith and killing Duriel who isnt even a challenge at all 100’s of times and just generally grinding t100’s was fun for a while, then the introduction to basically D3 greater Rifts with that new place abattoir grinded that to t10 then got bored as its just a skill/gear check with no real benefits to it, the rewards are pretty pointless at the end… i mean ball lightning sorcerer killing duriel and lilith and grinding 100 nightmares with no issue… a glyph from abattoir making you more powerful is pretty redundant at that point.
I’d rather see systems like Kanai’s Cube and Legendary Gems introduced from D3 or an adventure mode instead of having to replay the story repeatedly each season and just to add some variety into the game, as presently Crafting is redundant, gems are basically useless except in weapons.
I’m finding I hit 100 play for another month then its boring as hell. WB’s are a waste of time at 100 as well, same with the Tree.
So im hoping S3 is at least better or some better content, though will see if i continue playing or just skip the seasons till the next expansion or something. I don’t think as it stands i’ll be able to mentally handle levelling to 100 again and again with the current system and story mode.
So fingers crossed the game improves.
You’ll get 30 levels of loose ‘content’ then back on the grind road to 100 … yay!
- Game needs sandbox dungeons
- Reasons to party with people
- Greater amount of effective rewards across all levels
- An offline mode
AKA match the substance to the aesthetic. Game is gorgeous, it deserves to be good. Make me play … again! A repeat of Season 2 with new paint isn’t bringing me back or silly weekly ladders.

So far it feels like each season is just the same thing with a very light coat of paint i.e. a minor difference to a small part of the game, the rest is the grind with no reward and no tangible end-game.

Season 4 though, damn son. Itemization out of the wazoo!
Items for days. You’ll be so happy you gonna… turn on the game.
Just this season. Zoltun Kulle. Think how fun it will be. Lazors… I bet it’ll be eye-lasers and one when he turns around for a bit of dance. Then some arcane and archaic electrocution.
Half-time Zoltun’ll be three spiders popping maybe… They got ass-laser.
Thing is ur ready for all of that with ur own laser spider u picked urself.
And then… in just like 4-6 months it’ll be season 4 and now u gonna really roflol as all your items you’ve collected and stashed on eternal is obsoleted due to the new and improved itemization which will be so good that u will fly from your chair onto the button on your computer that you press when you go to your aunt’s house for cookies and coffee.
Yea, there’s some dreamy days ahead; for sure.
Thanks for a new source of 925-power items after the patch 1.3 (dungeons 90+), it’s really good change. But… Maybe something else?
I insist the Eternal needs in new activities. Please, pay a few attention to Eternal, not only to seasons.
I started out hating the concept of seasons, in fact i skipped season 1 completely.
Then with season 2 i changed my mind, activating the premium is fun, and the leveling is exceptional, only after level 80 does it become less fun due to the poor loot, i found hundreds of gear pieces between 860-888, including gear unique… the change made by Blizzard for the loot was exaggerated in my opinion.
The season is fun only by leveling new classes that have never been played, i personally give these seasons a max of 15 months, after which i should have leveled all the classes (even the new one i think).
The eternal world is monstrously boring, Lilith must have taken early retirement there, the leveling is very slow (my barbarian remained at level 55); luckily I will soon add my level 100 wizard (also retired) to the eternal world.
In conclusion 1) without an adequate end game build, you die after level 50 (tested with the barbarian and the sorcerer); 2) the eternal world must be revolutionized because it is the future of the game; 3) the magic of Diablo is missing, the nightmare expeditions are always the same, more exploration is needed.

Giving viable sources of getting 925’s is a good direction. But i’m affraid that i will give up on season again when i will have to browse all these yellow items after every 3 minutes of doing any activity in the game. No loot filter is actually the biggest dissapointment for me. It’s just not fun, when you browse loot more than you play a game.

Yea, a loot filter would be good. Something smart. Not sure exactly how but I’d like to set particulars on every slot.
Sometimes I’m looking for combination of stats in parallell. Like I want this combo but I also want the other combo.
