So prepare for hiting monster for few minutes . No more speedruning boring dungeons.
Overall damage will drop by 30% have fun with sponge bosses.
So they again slow you down by keeping you longer ingame. This is what we love. Artifictaly slowed down
Not gonna lie, 2nd live stream was a massive disappointment. Here are my main concerns, none of them fixed:
- trash affixes still in place so itemization is still all over the place.
- enchanting still doodoo.
- the re-balance around crit, vuln and overpower to bring them in line, really didn’t change much simply because how scuffed and conditional overpower is; chance to proc overpower is way too low and the conditional guaranteed procs are waaay to conditioned around things which are not sustainable in late game - this will pretty much be a nerf all around,
- no balancing around the basic skills pretty much, so we’re stuck with the same 2 choices.
- the uniques will still be trash; a bit of extra conditioned damage won’t trump your choice of stats, it’s as simple as that.
- attack skills in nodes other than basic/core still have unreasonable cooldowns, especially considering their damage values.
- obvious outliers and outright broken interactions still have not been fixed.
I feel like emphasizing: overall really disappointed with the 2nd livestream and the changes. I was honestly hopeful after the first livestream, but this second one confirmed yet again they have no idea what they’re doing.
You both didn’t seem to hear or read anything.
All monsters were balanced around the bucket capping and everything else.
Don’t just cherry pick what you wanna talk about, take it all in.
And items scaling was also increased, but you won’t be speedrunning through the game with broken buggy builds or with capping you won’t use insanely over tuned builds that shouldn’t have existed in the first place, and most other builds can actually play the game now, because of the monster rebalancing, including Uber Lilith.
Albeit the game easy anyway when it released, so all the nerfs were like whatever, and I did melee sorc, and nothing changed in terms of performance, maybe got in a weird way easier, because of my own build I used, and not using Crit Dmg (first to receive a nerf) and Vulnerable as much, but instead going for non physical/elemental, plus not using meta defensive/dmg aspects, so nerfs didn’t affect me.
“Monsters
All monsters and bosses across the game have been rebalanced around all the other changes slated for Season of Blood to ensure the overall difficulty of the game does not drastically change.
Level Scaling in the open world has been adjusted. Levels of the monsters encountered in the Open World will scale with the player’s Level, with a minimum and maximum Level determined by the World Tier.
World Tiers I and II: Level 1–50
World Tier III: Min 55 - Max 70
World Tier IV: Min 75 - Max 100
We have generally reduced the evasiveness of many monsters.
The cooldown for Teleport cast by Knight monsters has been increased and the range has been decreased.
The Spider Host Cold Explosion now Chills instead of Freezes.
The Bloated Corpsefiend Death Explosion no longer has knockback.
Spider Hosts, Bloated Corpsefiends, and Fly Hosts will no longer spawn with the Fire Enchanted or Plaguebearer affixes.
The Seething Abomination’s Ground Slam ability now also spawns a poison pool under the player.
Ghost monsters have received a visual upgrade.”
Look, I get not everyone can do basic math but that’s no excuse.
Here, let me ask you this then. Why would you grab crit damage and vuln (or even worse - overpower) over say… +damage (which is an increase all around with 100% uptime) once you got to the cap multiplicative values.
You wanna simp? Go ahead! Check back in a few weeks complaining about what’s obvious from the start.
You’re going around the issue, kind of like they did.
Who cares about the said rebalancing? All it’ll end up being is a stupid, linear play. It’ll barely feel like you’re making any progress.
But you do you.
You can’t do basic math even, you ignored the fact that the entire math you did was around what exists now, but all monsters will be different and weaker against weaker builds.
Like for F’s sake they literally told in the 2nd video that they tested against Uber Lilith with more general builds to be more viable, instead of only the peeps who use builds that shouldn’t exist because they couldn’t see all the synergies going out of hand before hand or the rest who used bugs to get insane damage output.
The game was easy anyway overall, so your math is irrelevant in that regard too, besides in everything else that the devs said.
Forever ignored.
Again, you’re missing the point.
We’ll have the same issue. Nobody is going to stick around to even get there if it feels trash on the way, it’s as simple as that!
The leveling progression will feel scuffed, it’s plain as day.
If the minions hp and attack pattern is nerfed alongside the damage we do, then the changes in reality has no effect unless you use broken builds, that should not be hard to understand. Build the characer as intended instead of chasing broken cheese and the nerfs will not effect you.
I use a full sacrifice shadow dot damage necro(eternal lv76), the big nerf update in S1 had zero effect on me as shadow dot damage from corpse explosion is where my damage comes from, not corps tendrils.
Could i get perhaps more alpha damage on skill activiation if i went with a crit stats?, yes, but the sustained damage would go down so ignoring crit and going for shadow dot damage affix is better.
With my build, based on the info in here, i wont be nerfed in this upcoming update either as i dont use overpower, crit or vuln.
If there is no mention of nerf to shadow dot damage, i will infact be buffed with this update.
Did you really watch that stream ?. Did you see Resistance math >?. Look at it you will get 6% more resitance it mean damage fall down by 20% >it was said on stream you can watch it again by yourself. How 6% change to 20% your math is probably same as theirs.
Great! You’re lvl 76, you don’t even have a basis of comparison between a close to BIS item and slap-whatever-you-have-on, please stop.
Also, did you miss the part where they’ve said every non-physical node in paragon was multiplicative and they fixed it? It will all be additive now.
Stop assuming everyone is playing cheese builds, it’s not the case. It’s simple math.
Also, FYI, up to 80’ish pretty much anything goes, so we’re really not intrested in your use-case.
Yes blizzard is performing well in the opposite direction. its the game design to chase us away, its deliberate and on purpose. Ask why?
6 / 30 = 0,2 = 20 %
Glad to help
That is just an underhanded and convenient way of laying it out for them. Sure, it’s 20% of the remaining damage, but not 20% really.
Remove all res and in WT4 with 400 INT it’s actually aprox. 4.5%. Or, say you don’t go out of your way to grab any resistances besides accessories, it’s somewhere roughly between 6.7% and 8.6%.
U are a real math genius they took the path of PoE they did exacly the same several years ago. Same with resistances. Lol these guys have no clue
All I was trying to do was just show how they twisted it to fit their narrative again.
Why not call it what it is? 6% is 6%. And 6% gets you 6% closer to the 120% you need in WT4 to reach the basic cap (or only 5%, if we were to talk actual percentage).
Either way, this patch woun’t fix nothing. They don’t balance nothing they only nerf, because they want to slow dawn game speed. More time to Diablo 4.
all they ever do is nerf, that is very annoying since you have to basically start from scratch all over again. no thank you, they sure won’t see me back playing D4 anytime soon
After 1 month away from the game, the first campfire fixed lots of QOL problems for me personally, and in the second campfire the idiot that broke the game in the first place went ahead and did it again, it’s going be a massive player number in the first week and after that population is gonna drop again for the same reason they did it in the first place. The game is not fun to play when after level 50 you just grind. I think the game is gonna be nice after 2-3 years. If season 2 is gonna be a flop nobody will want to play the game anymore. Hope they gonna prove me wrong.
