it is because it is too dark and the details are hidden in shadows, if i turn up the brightness it looks washed out and like crap
its also the fact its too zoomed in, so it produces the effect like when your on a boat and the environment is moving around you rather than you moving around the environment
I agree. All monsters look the same and sometimes when you meet other players in open world you don’t even notice them at first. D3 surely was crap but atleast the color palette was clear. Also no icons on top of vendors because RPG immersion…
the “palette” in this game is non-existent, there is no contrasting aspect between your character and the environment, so the feedback stimuli is very low, no engagement being created, this causes a floating effect that mimics sea sickness when you look at a horizon when on a boat
someone tell blizz you can actually create a “dark” atmosphere without washing everything together and actually having separation between objects/people e.t.c
look at any Diablo clone from 1990s, early 2000s, they manage to do this 20 years ago. neverwinter nights 2 being prime example. you can actually have grass that is green and sunlight that actually produces a normal effect rather than a blinding washed out monstrosity of an effect
but really its the camera being zoomed that is the major issue, it is the exact same dimensions as Diablo Immortal, not only is this a console game it has mobile game incorporation and “engines” behind it, damn
yes the bloom effect inside dungeons is a complete mess. the liquids coating the floor and rocks has an odd reflecting/shimmering quality that does not represent the light being pointed at the source. Diablo Immortal has the same thing, they “coat” the environment with a specific lazy geometry and effects, a mobile game thing that devs have been using since 3D engines on mobile became norm
Its because of motion blur. When you run the screen gets blurred and when you stop it becomes sharp again and that strains you eyes incredibly hard. Try running a bit stopping and running and focus on how your eyes react. I played hard for weekend and had blurry vision at the morning and had problems for my eyesight to adjusting to little letters and stuff. D4 can impact your eyesight in a very bad way. Hope they turn off this taa motion blurr crap because i kinda am afraid to play longer (3-4 hours ) to not strain my eyes.
Check your display calibration. Sounds like you have a cheap screen or have it set poorly.
As what you described is simply not present. Either on my ps5 at 4k on a 60" Sony Bravia or on my dell 30" gsync at 1440p on max settings.
The palette is amazing if you struggle tracking you can go into option and turn on colour outlines.
Guys, check options before trying to instantly blame the game. There is a huge choice of options for people with eye sight issues or colour issues. USE THEM
Read more topics like this. Its not only my issue. I tried different settings and it does not help and my eyesight is perfectly fine. Never had this problem till now.
I agree, the color palette could have been less washed, so it could be more realistic then, but at least it’s not saturated . Same for the shininess which is too strong. Also there could have some graphics options about that. But the performances graphics options are great, thanks Blizzard for that.
Not only you, of course not. Other people can also have vision-based issues.
My missus gets super motion sick in FPS games. But no issues in diablo 4. The camera zoom is perfect, enjoy detail, keep fights engaging and tight not so far away it becomes an RTS. As the character stays central it is most likely motion sickness due to the realism. Your brain is being fooled into thinking you are moving.
Like when the car next to you moves and you see it and panic because your brain is thinking you are rolling backwards.
I never said anything about camera being to cose or to far. Its simple i move and the screen gets blurred in all but ui and my character and when i stop its focused. It simple motion blurr without in game settings to turn it off. Dude ffs nothing you just mentioned is my problem but this. Here is a guy from us side of blizz foru stating the same problem dude Weird motion blur (all max) - Technical Support - Diablo IV Forums
Dude its not a monitor thing. Maybe you didnt noticed or it dosent affect you but there is a ton of posts like this. Most games have the option to turn of motion blurr and d4 dosent. When i play other games i dont have this problem. If it was monitor or video card i would noticed it in other games with any settings but when i see it in other games and turn it off and it stops than it is not my setup but the game. It is what it is.
So you think the implementation of motion blur is causing people to get motion sickness.
Must be they try to focus the “blurred” part of the image and it’s triggering an effect like looking through somebody else’s prescription glasses.
I see the motion blur when zooming around on my horse, but that looks good and does not affect my nausea.
My mates and my missus are all unaffected. So it looks like it is a personal vision based issue.
Hope the Devs come up with an option to disable this for those with the vision problem. Have you guys all tried any of the accessibility options for sight?
Dude its NOT a sight problem its in game settings. Just found a work a round trough nvidia control panel settings and had to use forced settings to overwite game settings and now i finaly have like 90% less motion blurr almost not noticable its like finaly can play comfortably. Its the first game that i had to do that.
