I have had this issue for a while, where the auto-battle animations freeze in battlegrounds. A minion will just hover in the air, as if it is about to attack, and gets stuck there.
The game as a whole does not freeze, i can still hover over minions to see tooltips, and interact with the game menu ect, but the auto-battle just gets stuck, and the only way to fix it, is to exit the game and reconnect.
This issue started a couple of months ago, and i was hoping it would just get fixed with a patch, but since it is still a problem, i was curious to see if anyone else has this issue.
I tried reinstalling the game, but that did not solve it either.

Happens to me as well sometimes, but on my side it unstucks after few seconds, or gives the pop up warning “you have been disconnected from your game. Reconnecting…” and reconnects or drops me completely, and count it as a Loss

This problem has been reported for a year now and still has not been resolved and is unlikely to be resolved in the future.
I also met this bug just a few minutes ago and was forcibly defeated. I doubt if this game is worth the money.
There is some information that lowering the frame rate of the game will make it less likely to freeze, but I don’t know if it will work.
It is most likely connection issues due to either your internet connection or your router/switch. Check with your ISP and see if they can upgrade you to a newer model. Some routers are notorious for having issues with the local Blizzard servers
It’s a frustrating issue, and only has to do with Battlegrounds. I can go 1 game or 3 games without it happening, and when it does, it’s usually 3/4 of the way through the game. Thanks for wasting 20 minutes of my time! Has nothing to do with internet, I’m “hard wired” to the modem.
Have had the same problem for a while now I can’t play on my pc anymore because it freezes I close it then it never reconnects to the game I auto lose. This is quite stupid they haven’t fixed this and I’m guessing never will fix it. They need to do better.
The devs just dont give a sh*t or are really dumb. Either way nothing is going to change as long as people are paying for this.
I have the exact same issue and it seems to differ from the ones in the comments where its an entire freeze, like you say we can still interact with hearthstone like the friends menu, background, hover over cards and everything and it usually occurs after a few minions has already attacked in the battlephase which has the best solution of pressing ctrl+alt+delete. Compared to a connection issue it doesnt try to reconnect because it tricks itself its still working it seems. The loss we do get from the issue is a little time of the buyingphase and if you use a decktracker it will reset the others board which can be a make or break in finals.
